Gianeb is a medical product for thinning phlegm and facilitating its excretion from the lungs.
Release form and composition
Gianeb is produced in the form of a hypertonic sterile solution for inhalation (spraying) (5 ml in vials for single use; 30 vials in a package).
1 ml of solution for inhalation contains:
- sodium chloride - 70 mg;
- sodium hyaluronate - 1 mg;
- distilled water - up to 1 ml.
Pharmacological properties
Gianeb is a product of innovative technology for the treatment of patients with bronchiectasis and cystic fibrosis. Inhalation of the solution, due to the osmotic mechanism, accelerates the passage of sputum (viscous secretion) in the airways.
The action of the active components of the product ensures its effectiveness:
- sodium chloride: the content of sodium salt of hydrochloric acid in high concentrations attracts moisture, contributing to the rehydration of bronchial secretions;
- hyaluronic acid: has the ability to bind a large amount of H 2 O (water) molecules and keep them in the interfibrillar space, is an important element of defense mechanisms, stimulates the movement of cilia of the bronchial ciliated epithelium, protects the lung parenchyma from the harmful effects of enzymes. Gianeba's tolerance and patient adherence to therapy are significantly improved due to the presence of hyaluronic acid in the composition.
Indications for use
According to the instructions, Gianeb is used for inhalation (using an osmotic mechanism) to accelerate the discharge of the viscous contents of the respiratory tract (sputum). Inhalation of the solution is especially recommended for patients with bronchiectasis and cystic fibrosis.
Contraindications
The drug is contraindicated for use in case of hypersensitivity to any of its components.
Instructions for the use of Gianeba: method and dosage
Gianeb is used by inhalation, by inhalation of a solution sprayed with any jet or membrane nebulizer.
Standard dosage, unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor: 5 ml of solution (1 bottle) 2 times a day. You can start therapy with a lower dose, increasing it gradually. The nebulizer tube should be kept in the mouth and breathe at a normal pace throughout the inhalation therapy (about 10 minutes). If necessary, the inhalation solution must be warmed before use until it reaches room temperature.
It is recommended to use a PARI jet nebulizer for the procedure, which will ensure the best results.
When using the PARI eFlow Rapid nebulizer, it is recommended to wet the membrane of the aerosol can before each procedure (soak it in distilled water) to ensure optimal atomization. If you reuse the device quickly, you do not need to wet it again.
Side effects
In extremely rare cases, allergic manifestations are possible in patients with hypersensitivity.
Overdose
There is no data.
special instructions
Gianeb is intended solely for inhalation use. Its first use should be under the supervision of a physician or qualified medical personnel.

When an attack of bronchospasm or persistent cough develops, it is required to immediately interrupt the procedure and report the complication to the doctor.
The drug is prohibited to use in the following cases:
- During the first opening of the bottle, damage or a loosely closed cap was found.
- The solution has expired.
- Using the contents of the vial left over from the previous procedure.

Reviews about Gianeba
Since the product appeared on the market not so long ago, and its cost is quite high, there are practically no reviews about Gianeba on medical sites and forums. However, on one of the forums, a detailed description of the use of an inhalation solution in a 7-year-old child with a mixed form of cystic fibrosis is given. Gianebom tried to replace the traditionally used drug, since it was recommended as a softer, sparing sputum discharge. In this case, the effect was so weak that it was necessary to return to a proven remedy.
Price for Gianeb in pharmacies
The approximate price for Gianeb solution for inhalation (5 ml in vials for single use) for a pack of 30 vials ranges from 5600 to 6300 r.
