Release form and composition
Zinocap dosage forms:
- cream for external use: white or white-yellowish, with a slight odor or odorless (25 or 50 g in a tube, in a cardboard box 1 tube);
- aerosol for external use: oily liquid of white or light yellow color, has a specific odor (35 or 58 g in an aerosol can, in a box 1 can).
Composition of 100 g cream:
- active substance: zinc pyrithione (in terms of absolute substance) - 0.2 g;
- auxiliary components: macrogol cetostearate, cetostearyl alcohol, liquid paraffin, propylene glycol, dexpanthenol, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, sodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, purified water.
Aerosol composition per cylinder 35/58 g:
- active substance: zinc pyrithione (in terms of 100% substance) - 0.06 / 0.1 g;
- auxiliary components: sodium lauryl sulfate, isopropyl myristate, colloidal silicon dioxide, dexpanthenol, polysorbate-80, ethanol 70%, tetrafluoroethane (freon 134a).
Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Zinocap aerosol and cream have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antifungal properties.
The antibacterial activity of the drug is directed against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria: Streptococcus spp., Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Proteus spp. Zinc pyrithione lowers the intracellular level of adenosine monophosphate (ATP), which leads to depolarization of cell membranes and the death of fungi and bacteria.
Antifungal activity is directed at Pityrosporum orbiculare and Pityrosporum ovale, which cause inflammation and excessive flaking in seborrheic dermatitis, dandruff, psoriasis and other skin diseases.
Pharmacokinetics
Systemic absorption of the drug is low.
Indications for use
- psoriasis, dandruff, seborrhea;
- atopic dermatitis;
- eczema;
- itching;
- neurodermatitis;
- inflammation and flaking of the skin;
- tinea versicolor, seborrheic dermatitis and other diseases caused by the bacteria Pityrosporum.
Contraindications
- age up to 1 year;
- increased sensitivity to the components of the drug.
Instructions for the use of Zinocap: method and dosage
Zinocap cream is applied externally, applying to the affected areas in a thin layer 2-3 times a day.
Aerosol Zinocap is used externally, spraying the drug from a distance of 15 cm 2-3 times a day, shake the balloon before use. The preparation comes with a nozzle designed for the treatment of the scalp. It is recommended to continue using the drug for at least 1 week after the symptoms disappear.
Recommended duration of therapy:
- seborrheic dermatitis - 2 weeks;
- atopic dermatitis - 3-4 weeks;
- psoriasis - 4-6 weeks, with symptoms of exacerbation, a second course of treatment is recommended.
Side effects
At the beginning of treatment with the drug in the form of an aerosol, sometimes there is a passing burning sensation at the site of application of the drug.
According to the instructions, Zinocap can cause the development of allergic reactions.
