Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Uronorm helps maintain a healthy urinary system.
According to scientific evidence, some women, against the background of such unfavorable conditions as stress, too humid / hot climate, poor hygiene, may increase the risk of recurrent episodes of urinary tract infections. With an increase in urine pH, which occurs during the age of menopause, there is an increase in the incidence of urinary tract infections. Also, factors that increase the likelihood of re-infection include diabetes, the use of barrier contraception, and corticosteroid therapy.
The effects of the drug are due to the properties of the active ingredients that make up its composition.
The main biologically active substances of the cranberry fruit extract are PAC (proanthocyanidins). These are micronutrients, which are polyphenolic compounds found in berries and plants.
Cranberry fruit extract has the following properties:
- antimicrobial: cause the protective effect of PAC, including in relation to infectious and inflammatory phenomena in the urinary system. There is evidence that, thanks to PAC, the attachment and reproduction of microorganisms on the epithelium of the urinary tract is disrupted, which facilitates their excretion. Also, these substances help to increase the body's defenses;
- antioxidant: associated with the ability of ursolic, chlorogenic and citric acids to reduce the activity of free radicals.
In addition, cranberries contain organic acids, flavonoids, carotene, and tannins.
Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is necessary for the regulation of carbohydrate metabolism, redox processes, promotes tissue regeneration, increases the body's resistance to bacterial and viral infections, and reduces the permeability of the capillary walls.
Ascorbic acid has an antioxidant effect, takes part in immune reactions and creates unfavorable conditions for the reproduction of microorganisms in the urinary tract.
