Cream Nittifor
Cream Nittifor

Nittifor is an external medicine with insecticidal (against head and pubic lice, fleas and ticks) and disinfecting effect.

Release form and composition

  • Water-alcohol lotion: yellowish (60 ml in dark glass bottles, 1 bottle in a cardboard box);
  • Cream: orange, with a specific smell (115 g each in polyethylene bottles, 1 bottle in a cardboard box).

Each box also contains instructions for using Nittifor.

The active ingredient is permethrin: in 1 ml of lotion - 5 mg, in 1 g of cream - 10 mg.

A cosmetic cream with conditioner is used as an auxiliary component in the production of Nittifor cream.

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics

Permethrin is the active ingredient of Nittifor, a synthetic insecticide that has anti-pediculosis, acaricidal and insecticidal effects.

The mechanism of influence is based on the violation of the ionic permeability of sodium channels and inhibition of the polarization (repolarization) processes of the membrane of the nerve cells of fleas, lice, ticks (including scabies) and other ectoparasites of the arthropod family, which has a paralyzing effect on them.

The high efficiency of Nittifor is due to the combination of the double action of permethrin directly on insects and their offspring, as well as the long-term preservation of the product on the hair, thereby preventing re-infection.

Pharmacokinetics

Permethrin absorption due to cutaneous application is no more than 2%. After the substance enters the systemic circulation, rapid hydrolysis to inactive metabolites is observed, which are excreted mainly in the urine.

With a single treatment of surfaces affected by pediculosis, the anti-pediculosis effect persists for a period of 2-3 to 6 weeks (depending on the dosage form used).

Indications for use

Nittifor is indicated for the treatment of head lice caused by Pediculus humanus var. Capitis.

Contraindications

  • Acute inflammatory diseases of the scalp;
  • Allergic skin manifestations caused by the use of medical or cosmetic products;
  • Age up to 2 years - for cream, up to 3 years - for solution;
  • Pregnancy;
  • Lactation;
  • Hypersensitivity to the drug.

Nittifor, instructions for use: method and dosage

Lotion

In the form of a lotion, Nittifor is used to treat the scalp and body (with pubic lice). With the help of a cotton swab, it is necessary to moisturize the hair abundantly, rubbing it into the roots.

On average, 30-60 ml is required per person, depending on the length and thickness of the hair, as well as the degree of infection.

40 minutes after application, the lotion should be washed off with warm running water and shampoo or soap, and the hair should be rinsed with a 5% aqueous solution of acetic acid, and then combed out with a thick comb to remove dead insects.

The drug can be used in case of re-infection, but no more than 2 times a month.

Cream

In the form of a cream, Nittifor is applied to previously washed and dried hair, evenly spreading over the hair of the head or body (in the case of pubic lice), rubbing into the roots.

Shake the bottle of cream well before use.

One person needs 10-30 g, depending on the length and thickness of the hair, as well as the degree of infection.

10 minutes after application, the cream should be washed off with warm running water and shampoo or soap, rinsed with a 5% aqueous solution of acetic acid, and then combed out with a thick comb to remove dead insects.

If necessary, repeat the treatment after 7 days.
