Camphor alcohol is an external herbal preparation with analgesic and local anesthetic effects.
Release form and composition
The dosage form of the release is a solution for external use (alcohol): colorless, transparent, has a camphor smell (in a cardboard box 1 bottle of 15, 25, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 or 100 ml).
Composition of 1 ml solution:
- active substance: camphor - 20 or 100 mg;
- additional component: 70% ethanol (ethyl alcohol) - up to 1 ml.

Camphor alcohol is a natural preparation with local irritating, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. Promotes reflex improvement in the trophism of organs and tissues, excitation of sensitive nerve endings.
Pharmacokinetics
The solution, when applied to the skin surface, is partially absorbed, undergoing oxidation. Then the oxidation products are combined with glucuronic acid. It is excreted by the kidneys. Partially camphor is excreted by bile and lungs unchanged.
Indications for use
- sciatica, myalgia, arthralgia, myositis;
- bedsores (prevention of education).
Contraindications
- inflammatory skin diseases or a violation of the integrity of the skin at the site of the intended application of the solution, including dermatitis, eczema;
- pregnancy and the period of breastfeeding;
- age up to 18 years;
- individual intolerance to the components present in the composition of Camphor alcohol.
Instructions for the use of Camphor alcohol: method and dosage
The drug is used externally.
The solution is applied to the skin 2-3 times a day. In the treatment of myositis, myalgia, arthralgia, sciatica, the duration of use is 7-10 days.
Side effects
Possible side reactions: skin irritation, allergic reactions (urticaria), dizziness, headache.
Overdose
The main symptoms are tachycardia, agitation, convulsions.
