Prohepar is a combined hepatoprotective agent.
Release form and composition
Sugar-coated tablets: oval, grayish-brown in color, practically odorless; two layers can be seen at the break. Packing: plastic / dark glass bottles - 20, 50 and 100 pcs., Each bottle is packed in a cardboard box.
Active substances in 1 tablet: liver extract KPC N (liver hydrolyzate) - 70 mg (including cyanocobalamin - not less than 0.0015 mg), choline hydrotartrate - 100 mg, cysteine - 16.57 mg (21.5 mg in recalculated as cysteine hydrochloride), inositol - 25 mg.
Additional components:
- core composition: gelatin, granulate of wheat flour and lactose, cetyl palmitate, colloidal silicon dioxide, high-viscosity paraffin, talc, magnesium stearate;
- shell composition: titanium dioxide, simethicone, sucrose, glucose syrup, triethyl citrate, hypromellose, sodium carmellose, medical charcoal, high-gloss wax, opagloss polishing agent formula 600, montane glycol wax, indigo carmine E132 dye, iron oxide red, iron oxide brown, indigocar dye blue (varnish blue 31967).
Pharmacological properties
Prohepar, thanks to its active components, inhibits the formation of connective tissue in the liver, preserves and restores the structure of hepatocytes, and also promotes the regeneration of a part of the parenchyma that has undergone destruction.
In addition, the drug improves local blood flow in the liver tissue and liver functional parameters, increases urine output.
Indications for use
- hepatopathies of various origins;
- toxic hepatitis, including alcoholic;
- chronic hepatitis;
- cirrhosis of the liver;
- fatty degeneration of the liver of various origins;
- radiation sickness;
- drug intoxication;
- psoriasis;
- taking cytostatics.
Contraindications
Prohepar is contraindicated in childhood, as well as in case of hypersensitivity to any of its components.
Instructions for the use of Prohepar: method and dosage
Prohepar should be taken orally: swallow the tablets whole without chewing, and drink plenty of liquid.
Unless the doctor has prescribed a different therapy regimen, adults should take 1 or 2 tablets 3 times a day.
The duration of therapy is individual.
To open a bottle of tablets, you need to pull out the lever and, pressing it from below, open the lid.

The drug is generally well tolerated. In some cases, allergic reactions occur.
