Release form and composition
The dosage form is an ointment for external use: a homogeneous consistency, from a somewhat yellowish to white color, has a characteristic lanolin smell (in a cardboard box, 1 aluminum tube of 35 g).
Composition of 100 mg ointment:
- active substance: dexpanthenol - 5 mg;
- auxiliary components: white soft paraffin - 10 mg; potassium sorbate - 0.15 mg; citric acid monohydrate - 0.2 mg; isooctadecanol diglycerol succinate - 3 mg; lanolin alcohol - 20 mg; lanolin - 10 mg; medium chain triglycerides - 4 mg; sodium citrate - 0.3 mg; purified water - 47.35 mg.

Pharmacodynamics
Dexpanthenol has a regenerating, mild anti-inflammatory and metabolic effect, which manifests itself in stimulating skin regeneration, normalizing cell metabolism and increasing the strength of collagen fibers.
Dexpanthenol is converted in the body to pantothenic acid (vitamin B 5). Pantothenic Acid is a water-soluble vitamin; is an integral part of coenzyme A and takes part in various metabolic processes.
Pharmacokinetics
When applied topically, dexpanthenol is rapidly absorbed by the skin, turning into pantothenic acid.
Binds to plasma proteins (mainly albumin and beta globulin). Pantothenic acid is not metabolized, it is excreted unchanged.
Indications for use
- violation of the integrity of the skin: burns (including sunburn), abrasions;
- dry skin;
- trophic ulcers, dermatitis;
- skin care for babies (diaper rash);
- poorly healing skin grafts, aseptic postoperative wounds.
Contraindications
According to the instructions, Panthenol-Teva is contraindicated in case of individual intolerance to any component of the drug.
Instructions for use of Panthenol-Teva: method and dosage
Panthenol-Teva is used externally.
The ointment is applied to the affected skin once / several times a day in a thin layer.
When caring for diaper rash in infants, the ointment can be applied with each diaper change.
The duration of therapy is determined by the characteristics of the course of the disease and the severity of the condition.
Side effects
Redness, skin allergic reactions and inflammation are possible.
Overdose
Even in cases of taking Panthenol-Teva ointment inside, the development of intoxication phenomena was not observed.

When using Panthenol-Teva ointment on the anal and genital areas, it should be taken into account that the composition of the drug contains petroleum jelly, due to contact with which the risk of rupture of the latex condom increases (associated with a decrease in strength).
