Lettuce is one of the healthiest and most delicious foods on our table. At the same time, it is ubiquitous and available in our strip.

Lettuce leaves are also rich in such a valuable substance as lactucin, which has a beneficial effect on the state of the nervous system, stabilizes sleep, and reduces salt deposits.
Also, lettuce contains iron salts, so it is considered advisable to include it in the diet of patients with iron deficiency anemia.
The salad has practically no contraindications for use and is recommended in baby food and food for people who have had serious illnesses. It is known that the salad is recommended for diseases of the respiratory and genitourinary system, as well as for tuberculosis, atherosclerosis, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, digestive diseases and obesity.
It is not recommended to eat salad for people suffering from gout, chronic and acute colitis and enterocolitis, as well as urolithiasis.
Fresh salad: calories and popular recipes
There are many varieties of salads that include lettuce as an ingredient. In this case, the calorie content of salads depends on the selected proportions.
For example, in the Mediterranean countries, the following recipe is very popular: combine a can of canned tuna with chopped quail eggs, previously hard-boiled. Add halved cherry tomatoes, shredded jacket potatoes, black olives and fresh basil. Mix with a large bunch of washed lettuce leaves and season with olive oil and black pepper.
The salad with pear and blue cheese is no less great: dice any cheese with mold, add the diced pear as well. Drizzle with lemon juice, add lettuce and pine nuts. Season with a little olive oil mixed with a spoonful of Dijon mustard.
