Release form and composition
Dosage form - granules for the preparation of a suspension for oral administration: dark gray (1 and 2 g in bags made of ceflen or wrapping paper with a polyethylene coating, in a cardboard box 25 bags and instructions for the use of Plantaglucid).
Active ingredient: Plantaglucidum dry extract (plantain leaf extract) - 0.5 or 1 g, including the amount of reducing sugars in terms of glucose and absolutely dry matter - 9%.

Pharmacological properties
Plantaglucid is a herbal preparation that has a moderate antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory effect, reduces the tone of the smooth muscles of the intestine and stomach, reduces the swelling of the folds of the gastric mucosa, increases the acidity of gastric juice (mainly in patients with hypoacidity).
Indications for use
- Hypoacid gastritis;
- Duodenal ulcer and stomach (with low or normal acidity).
Contraindications
Absolute:
- Peptic ulcer of the duodenum and stomach with high acidity;
- Hyperacid gastritis;
- Hypersensitivity to the drug.

Plantaglucid should be taken orally half an hour before meals. Immediately before taking, the granules should be dissolved in a small amount of warm water (¼ glass).
Recommended doses:
- Adults: 0.5-1 g (½-1 tsp granules);
- Children: 0.5 g each (½ tsp granules).
Frequency rate of admission - 2-3 times a day.
The duration of therapy during the period of exacerbation of the disease is 3-4 weeks.
For the prevention of relapses, 1 g (1 tsp granules) is prescribed 1-2 times a day for a course of 1-2 months.
