Shostakovsky's balm is an antiseptic drug with antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effect, promotes tissue regeneration and epithelization.
Release form and composition
Dosage form - balm: a thick liquid with a viscous structure, light yellow, with a specific odor, does not dry out and does not thicken in air (50 g or 100 g each in orange glass bottles or in PET bottles, in a cardboard box 1 bottle).
The balsam contains the active ingredient - polyvinox (vinylin), in 1 bottle - 50 or 100 g.
Indications for use
The use of Shostakovsky's balm is shown:
- externally: mastitis, trophic ulcer, furunculosis, carbunculosis, burns, purulent wounds, soft tissue damage, frostbite;
- inside: an acute form of chronic gastritis with increased secretory function of the stomach, as part of the complex therapy of erosive and peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum.
Contraindications
Individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
In addition, when prescribing a balm inside:
- diseases of the gallbladder and liver;
- impaired renal function;
- the period of pregnancy and breastfeeding;
- age up to 18 years.
Method of administration and dosage
For external use, a sufficient amount of balm is applied to the wound surface or napkins soaked in it are applied.
In the treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, the drug is taken orally 1 time per day before bedtime, 5-6 hours after a light dinner at 18 hours.
Recommended dosage:
- peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum: on the first day - 1 teaspoon, then 1 dessert spoon per day. The duration of the course is 16–20 days;
- acute gastritis with increased secretory function: on the first day - 1 teaspoon, then - every other day, 1 dessert spoon for 10-12 days.
