Plantex is a herbal preparation to stimulate digestion and reduce gas formation in the intestine, has an antispasmodic effect.
Release form and composition
Dosage form - granules for the preparation of a solution for oral administration (for children): light brown small grains with a fennel smell, a heterogeneous structure interspersed with a darker and lighter color (5 g in sachets, 10 sachets in a cardboard box).
Content of active ingredients in 1 sachet:
- Dry extract (water) of fennel fruits - 250 mg;
- Fennel essential oil - 2.4 mg, including the content of fenchone not less than 0.2 mg and anethole not less than 0.5 mg.
Auxiliary components: lactose, anhydrous dextrose, acacia gum.
Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
The drug reduces gas formation and stimulates digestion. The essential oil and fruits of fennel stimulate intestinal motility and gastric secretion, which promotes rapid digestion and absorption of food. The active components of the drug prevent the accumulation of gases, improve their discharge and provide an antispasmodic effect.

Indications for use
According to the instructions, Plantex is recommended to be used as a therapeutic and prophylactic agent in children after two weeks of life with spastic pain in the intestines against a background of mild indigestion or when switching to other types of nutrition with breastfeeding.
Contraindications
- Lactose intolerance;
- Galactosemia;
- Syndrome of malabsorption of galactose or glucose;
- Individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
Instructions for the use of Plantex: method and dosage
The ready-made solution is taken orally after a meal or in between meals.
Recommended daily dosage:
- Newborns and children under 1 year old: 1-2 sachets;
- Children from 1 to 4 years old: 2-3 sachets.
The daily dose is divided into 2-3 doses.
For children and newborns, Plantex is poured into a bottle or cup. Pour 100 ml of boiled warm water into the granules and stir thoroughly to dissolve all the granules.

The development of allergic reactions is possible.
