Biobacton-K is a biologically active food additive (BAA), a source of probiotic microorganisms (acidophilic lactobacilli) and an additional source of ascorbic acid.

Release form and composition

The dosage form of the bioadditives Biobacton-K is a lyophilisate (powder) for oral administration (in vials of 0.5 g, in a package of 4 or 10 vials).

1000 mg of the drug contains:

  • active ingredients: lactobacillus acidophilus (lactobacillus acidophilus) - 2 x 10 8 CFU, ascorbic acid - 10 mg;
  • excipients: gelatose and sucrose.

Pharmacological properties

The drug is a combination of a probiotic (acidophilic lactobacilli) and a prebiotic (ascorbic acid). Ascorbic acid activates the growth and vital activity of microorganisms that are part of the bioadditive Biobacton-K. Acidophilic lactobacilli are resistant to gastric juice, which has high acidity. In the process of their vital activity, they secrete acidophilus, lactic acid and some other substances that stimulate the growth of normal intestinal microflora. Microorganisms have a high growth rate, which allows them to actively colonize the intestines.

Biobactone-K is available in the form of a lyophilisate for oral administration, which ensures the formation of a sucrose-gelatinous membrane around the cell wall of each bacterium, which protects cells from damage. In the process of lyophilization, the protein structure is preserved, therefore, when water is added to the bottle, acidophilic bacteria “come to life” and begin to multiply.

Biobacton-K is prescribed not only after a course of antibiotic treatment, but also directly while taking antibacterial drugs. This is due to the resistance of dietary supplements to 18 of the 21 most commonly used antibiotics.

The drug is characterized by high antagonistic activity against coagulase-positive staphylococci, enteropathogenic Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Shigella, Proteus and other pathogenic microorganisms. Its bactericidal properties are associated with the presence in the composition of specific substances that have an antibacterial effect, the effect of which is enhanced in the presence of lactic acid.

Pharmacodynamics

The pharmacodynamics of bioadditives Biobacton-K has not been studied in detail.

Pharmacokinetics

There is no reliable information on the pharmacokinetics of the drug.

Indications for use

This dietary supplement is used as a source of lactobacilli (probiotic microorganisms) and an additional source of ascorbic acid intake for both adult patients and children over 3 years old.

Contraindications

According to the instructions, Biobacton-K is contraindicated in the presence of individual sensitivity to the components of dietary supplements.

Instructions for use Biobacton-K: method and dosage

Biobacton-K is taken orally, after diluting the contents of the bottle with boiled water at room temperature. The vial is filled completely, closed with a stopper and left for 5 minutes to dissolve the lyophilisate, after which it is shaken and the contents are poured into a glass with a small amount of water at room temperature.

When using the drug as a source of lactobacilli (for the prevention of dysbiosis) for adults and children over 3 years old, it is prescribed in a dosage of 1 bottle 2 times a day. Supplements should be taken during meals for 5-7 days. In other cases, a longer course of therapy is recommended, amounting to 2-3 weeks, during which adults take 1 bottle 1 time per day, and children over 3 years old - 1 bottle 1 time per day or every other day.

When prescribing bioadditives Biobacton-K as an additional source of ascorbic acid, adult patients should take it 1 bottle 3 times a day, and children over 3 years old - 1 bottle 2 times a day with meals.

Reviews about Biobacton-K

Basically, patients leave positive reviews about Biobacton-K, noting its rapid action in diarrhea, bloating and irritable bowel syndrome of various etiologies, as well as good tolerance.
