Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Uroprost-D is a drug of animal origin for the treatment of prostate diseases. Its active substance, prostate extract, stimulates the muscles of the bladder, has anti-inflammatory, antiaggregatory and organotropic effects on the prostate gland. It has an immunomodulatory and immunostimulating effect, potentiates the synthesis of antiserotonin and antihistamine antibodies. The components of the prostate extract are cytomedins, which belong to the group of peptide bioregulators, the molecular weight of the peptides is from 1 to 10 kDa. The function of low molecular weight peptides of a paracrine or autocrine nature is to play the role of trans-specific intra- and intercellular messengers.
Peptides of the prostate gland help to reduce the period of blood coagulation and increase the antiaggregatory activity of the vascular wall, improve blood microcirculation, increase the fibrinolytic activity of the blood and increase the contractile activity of detrusor myocytes.
In the treatment of chronic prostatitis, the ability of peptide bioregulators to influence the restoration of blood microcirculation and to exert an indirect anti-inflammatory effect due to an increase in the synthesis of antihistamine and antiserotonin antibodies is used.
The use of the drug in benign prostatic hyperplasia is based on the organotropicity of cytomedines - the most important biological effect that allows regulating the functions and processes of cell differentiation in the organ from which they are isolated.
Uroprost-D normalizes the secretory function of epithelial cells, reduces the degree of leukocyte infiltration of the prostate gland and edema, increases the number of lecithin grains in the secretion of acini. It normalizes the parameters of the prostate and ejaculate, prevents the development of venule thrombosis in the prostate gland. Reduces pain and discomfort, stimulates the muscle tone of the bladder, eliminates dysuric phenomena, and improves copulatory function.
Pharmacokinetics
In the body, the peptide preparation is cleaved to amino acids by cellular proteases, and does not accumulate.
Indications for use
The use of Uroprost-D is indicated in the treatment of chronic abacterial prostatitis, benign prostatic hyperplasia, conditions before and after operations on the prostate gland.
Contraindications
The use of rectal suppositories Uroprost-D is contraindicated in case of individual intolerance to the components of the drug (including a history of hypersensitivity to the active substance).
