Dekasan is an antimicrobial agent.
pharmachologic effect
Dekasan is active against most gram-negative, gram-positive microorganisms - the causative agent of diphtheria, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, streptococci, staphylococci.
Shows the drug and antifungal effect - destroys trichophytes, erythrasma, yeast-like fungi, epidermophytes, some types of mold fungi.
Dekasan is used to combat Trichomonas, lamblia.
No microbes have been identified that are resistant to Dekasan.
Release form
Dekasan solution is released for inhalation, administration inside the affected organs, for external use.
Indications for use
Dekasan's instructions indicate the following indications for its appointment: skin diseases of a fungal, pustular, bacterial nature, incl. microbial eczema, purulent-inflammatory skin diseases in the draining stage and open wounds (phlegmon, panaritium, abscess, carbuncle, furuncle, others), inflammation of the oral cavity, inflammatory diseases of the respiratory organs, proceeding in severe form, their complications, diseases of the upper respiratory tract (chronic laryngopharyngitis, tonsillitis, bacterial carriage), inflammation of the large intestine (proctitis, ulcerative colitis, sigmoiditis), inflammation in the urogenital area (prostatitis, endometritis, vaginitis, urethritis, balanoposthitis).
Practicing the use of Dekasan in surgery in abdominal operations for irrigation of the pleural, abdominal cavity, large wound surfaces.
It can be used to sterilize medical instruments, equipment, disinfect gloves, hands of medical personnel before surgery, and to sanitize the birth canal before childbirth.
Instructions for the use of Dekasan
Pure Dekasan solution is used in the form of lotions, washings for the treatment of skin diseases.
To eliminate fistulas, fistulous passages are washed every day with a solution. The treatment lasts 5 days.
For the treatment of cystitis and chronic urethritis, the solution is diluted with clean water (1: 7), counting on a treatment course of 20 washings - 600 ml.
For the treatment of prostatitis, colon intestines, the following treatment regimen is indicated in the Dekasan instructions: 100 ml of a solution two r / day is administered in the form of an enema. The solution is warmed up before administration. Treatment is carried out until the symptoms of exacerbation are relieved.
For the treatment of diseases of the oral mucosa, rinses or applications are used. For rinsing take 150ml, for applications - 50ml. (hold for 12-15 minutes).
Periodontal disease of 1-2 degree during an exacerbation is treated by irrigating the gums with a warm solution (100 ml).
Gingivitis is ulcerative-necrotic, candidiasis of the oral mucosa is treated with rinsing: 150 ml of Dekasan solution 4-5r / day. The treatment lasts 10 days.
For the treatment of palatine tonsil fungus, tonsillitis of chronic, pathogenic carriers of bacteriological flora, washing of the pharynx, tonsil lacunae is practiced: up to 100 ml of Dekasan per wash.
Ultrasonic inhalation of Dekasan is also used - for the treatment of suppurating bronchiectasis, hypoplasia of cystic lungs with abscess, exacerbation of chronic bronchitis.
For inhalation of Dekasan, up to 10 ml of solution is needed, they are carried out one or two r / day. In these diseases, the solution can be administered by other methods: microtracheostomally (two r / day no more than 50 ml), using a transnasal catheter (one r / day no more than 10 ml), tracheobronchial lavage (no more than 100 ml).
Side effects
When applied externally, Dekasan can cause local allergic reactions: skin redness, urticaria.
When the drug is administered endobronchially, the drug creates a burning sensation and heat, which passes 30 minutes after the procedure.
Contraindications
Dekasan should not be used if the patient is intolerant of the drug.
