Release form and composition

Dosage form - drops for oral administration: thick opaque liquid from white to creamy white with a fruity odor, during storage it can stratify into a liquid layer and sediment, which, after shaking, form a homogeneous emulsion (30 ml each in dark glass bottles equipped with a stopper- dropper, in a cardboard box 1 bottle).

Composition of 1 ml of the preparation:

• active substance: simethicone - 66.66 mg, in the form of a 30% emulsion - 222.2 mg;
• auxiliary components: citric acid monohydrate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, sodium carmellose, sodium saccharinate, purified water, raspberry flavor.

Pharmacodynamics

Simethicone (activated dimethicone) is a combination of methylated linear siloxane polymers stabilized by trimethylsiloxyl groups with silicon dioxide. The mechanism of its action is explained by the ability to reduce the surface tension at the interface, hinder the formation of new gas bubbles and destroy the intestinal contents and mucus of the gastrointestinal tract. The gases released as a result of this are absorbed by the intestinal walls or are excreted due to peristalsis. Thus, simethicone prevents the formation of large gas-mucous conglomerates that can cause painful bloating.

When performing X-ray and sonography, simethicone prevents the formation of image defects, and also prevents the rupture of the contrast film, improving the irrigation of the colon mucosa with contrast agents.

Simethicone is chemically inert, therefore it does not affect enzymes and microorganisms present in the gastrointestinal tract. Also, it does not affect the volume of gastric juice and does not change its response, does not reduce food absorption.

Pharmacokinetics

After oral administration, simethicone is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. It is excreted unchanged through the intestines.

Indications for use

• increased gas production and accumulation of gases in the gastrointestinal tract: flatulence, colic, a feeling of filling in the abdominal cavity, including in the postoperative period, aerophagia, Remgeld's syndrome;
• preparation for diagnostic examinations of the abdominal cavity and small pelvis, such as sonography, duodenoscopy, gastroscopy, radiography (to prevent foam formation).

Contraindications

• obstructive diseases of the gastrointestinal tract;
• intestinal obstruction;
• hypersensitivity to any component of the drug.

Do not appoint Bobotic to newborns before 28 days of age.

Instructions for the use of Bobotik: method and dosage

Bobotik should be taken orally after meals. Shake the bottle immediately before taking it to obtain an emulsion of a uniform consistency.

For accurate dosing of the drug, the bottle must be held vertically when instilled.

For small children, drops can be mixed with a small amount of baby food, still liquid, or chilled boiled water.

Single doses for increased gassing and accumulation of gases:

• adults and children from 6 years old - 16 drops;
• children 2-6 years old - 14 drops;
• children from the 28th day of life to 2 years old - 8 drops.

The frequency of admission is 4 times a day. The drug can be used until the unpleasant symptoms disappear.

Single doses in preparation for diagnostic examinations of the abdominal and pelvic organs:

• adults and children from 6 years old - 20 drops;
• children 2-6 years old - 16 drops;
• children from the 28th day of life to 2 years old - 10 drops.

The drug should be taken 2 times a day (morning and evening) on the day preceding the procedure. When conducting a sonographic examination, another dose should be taken 3 hours before its start.

Side effects

According to the instructions, Bobotik in some cases causes allergic reactions.

Overdose

Overdose has not been reported. Considering the fact that simethicone is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and is excreted unchanged, an overdose of the drug cannot pose a threat to human health.
