Bronchicum is a herbal preparation with mucolytic, anti-inflammatory, expectorant and antispasmodic effects.

Release form and composition

Bronchicum is available in three dosage forms:

  • Elixir in bottles of 130 g, 1 bottle in a cardboard box;
  • Pastilles 100 mg in blisters of 10 pieces, 2 blisters in a cardboard box;
  • Drops for oral administration in 50 ml vials, 1 vial in a cardboard box.

100 ml of elixir contains:

  • 0.5 ml of primrose root tincture;
  • 1 ml grindelia herb tincture;
  • 0.7 ml of tincture of quebracho bark;
  • 0.2 ml tincture of wildflower root;
  • 1 ml thyme tincture.

1 lozenge contains 100 mg of thyme extract.

100 ml of oral drops contains:

  • 22 ml thyme tincture;
  • 19 ml tincture of white soap root;
  • 14 ml of quebracho bark tincture.

Indications for use

Bronchicum is prescribed for the treatment of acute and chronic diseases of the lower and upper respiratory tract. The drug in the form of an elixir is effective for paroxysmal coughing.

Contraindications

The use of Bronchicum is contraindicated in:

  • Allergic respiratory diseases;
  • Hypersensitivity to drug components.

Method of administration and dosage

Bronchicum is prescribed in doses:

Drops (inside): adults and children over 14 years old - 20-30 drops 3-5 times a day. For children 6-14 years old, a single dosage is 20 drops, for young children - up to 15 drops. The drug can be taken with hot tea or sugar. Shake the bottle with drops before use

  • Elixir (inside): for adults - 1 teaspoon every 3 hours (no more than 6 times a day). Young children - 0.5-1 teaspoon up to 3 times a day;
  • Lozenges (sublingual): 1-2 lozenges, slowly dissolving, up to 4 times a day.

Side effects

The use of Bronchicum can lead to the development of:

  • Gastritis;
  • Dyspepsia;
  • Allergic reactions.

It should be remembered that the composition of the drug in the form of drops (29.5%) and elixir (1.5%) contains alcohol.
