Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
The Physiomer series preparations have anti-edematous and anti-inflammatory properties. Providing intensive irrigation of the nasal cavity, they have a moisturizing and cleansing effect, helping to improve the course of the regenerative processes of the nasal mucosa and without showing a negative effect on its normal physiological state.
Due to the complex of minerals and trace elements contained in seawater, as a result of washing with a spray, mucus is removed, the production of secretions is reduced, swelling of the nasal mucosa caused by pathogenic or allergic agents is relieved. The drug promotes the softening of the crusts in the nasal cavity and their subsequent removal, facilitates nasal breathing.
Indications for use
According to the instructions, Physiomer is recommended for use in children and adults in the treatment of the following acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) and acute diseases of the nose and nasopharynx (as part of combination therapy):
- allergic rhinitis;
- infectious rhinitis;
- rhinopharyngitis;
- sub- and atrophic rhinitis (with the formation of crusts);
- rhinosinusitis;
- chronic rhinitis in the acute phase.
Physiomer is also used for the prevention of infectious lesions of the nose and nasopharynx, and for the hygiene of the nasal mucosa.
A nasal spray for adults and children over 10 years of age is additionally prescribed to accelerate the regeneration processes after surgical interventions on the nasal cavity and sinuses (including polypectomy, adenoidectomy, septoplasty, etc.).
Contraindications
Spray for children over 3 years old is contraindicated for children under 3 years old, spray for adults and children over 6 years old and spray for adults and children over 10 years old are contraindicated for children under 6 years old and children under 10 years old, respectively.
Instructions for the use of Physiomer: method and dosage
Spray Physiomer is used intranasally.
Against the background of acute respiratory viral infections and diseases of the nose and nasopharynx, it is recommended to irrigate each nasal passage daily: children from 2 weeks to 3 years old - from 2 to 4 times a day, children over 3 years old and adults - from 2 to 6 times a day. Rinsing can be done more frequently if necessary.
In order to prevent infectious lesions of the nose and nasopharynx, as well as for the hygiene of the nasal mucosa, children over 2 weeks of age and adults are prescribed 1 lavage of each nasal passage daily. If necessary, it is possible to increase the frequency of irrigation.
In the course of postoperative treatment of the nasal mucosa, children over 10 years of age and adults, on the recommendation of the attending physician, can inject 4–6 sprays daily into each nasal passage.
Physiomer treatment can last from several days to several months.
Before starting the nasal flushing procedure, the spray nozzle must be attached to the balloon. For children under 3 years of age, it is recommended to wash while lying down. Tilting the child's head to one side, carefully insert the nozzle into the nasal passage and, pressing it, irrigate the cavity for 2-3 seconds. Then, in the same way, you should enter the drug into the second nasal passage and also rinse it. To facilitate the flow of mucus from the nose and its further removal after the completion of the procedure, it is recommended to raise the child.
When rinsing the nose in adults and children over 3 years old, tilt your head to one side, insert the nozzle into the nasal passage on top and irrigate it for 2-3 seconds. After washing, you need to blow your nose and carry out the same procedure with the second nasal passage. If necessary, irrigation can be repeated.
After each injection of the product, after removing the nozzle from the bottle, it must be rinsed with hot water, dried and subsequently stored attached to the bottle.
