The phospholipids included in Esslial forte in their chemical structure correspond to endogenous phospholipids, however, they surpass them in activity, which is associated with a higher content of essential (polyunsaturated) fatty acids. When these high-energy molecules are inserted into the damaged areas of the cell membranes of hepatocytes, the integrity of the liver cells is restored and the ability to regenerate is improved.

Due to the cis-double bonds of polyunsaturated fatty acids, parallel arrangement of hydrocarbon chains in the phospholipids of cell membranes is prevented, and the density of the phospholipid structure of the cell membranes of hepatocytes decreases. This leads to an increase in their elasticity and fluidity, improves metabolism. Due to the formed functional blocks, the activity of enzymes fixed on the membranes increases, which contributes to the normal, physiological pathway of the most important metabolic processes.

Phospholipids, which are part of the drug, transfer neutral fats and cholesterol to oxidation sites, as a result of which the metabolism of lipoproteins is regulated. These processes occur mainly by increasing the ability of high density lipoproteins to form bonds with cholesterol.

When phospholipids are released into bile, its stabilization and a decrease in the lithogenic index are observed.

Esslial forte generally has a normalizing effect: on the detoxification function of the liver and phospholipid-dependent enzyme systems; on the metabolism of proteins and lipids. Pharmacokinetics

Absorption of taken orally phospholipids (more than 90%) occurs in the small intestine. Most cleaved by phospholipase A 1-acyl lysophosphatidylcholine, ¹ / ₂ which is immediately converted into polyunsaturated phosphatidylcholine (acetylation by reverse, process occurs even during suction time in the intestinal mucosa).
