Elevit Pronatal is a preparation containing a multivitamin-mineral complex for the prevention and treatment of hypovitaminosis, deficiency of trace elements and minerals during planning and during pregnancy, after childbirth and during lactation.

Release form and composition

The drug is produced in the form of film-coated tablets: grayish-yellow, biconvex, oblong, with a risk on one side for breaking the tablet in half, odorless or with a subtle odor; the core of the tablet on a break is gray with almost yellow or white blotches (in a pack of cardboard, instructions for the use of Elevita Pronatal 3 or 10 blisters containing 10 tablets each, or 5 blisters containing 20 tablets each).

Active substances in the composition of Elevita Pronatal for 1 tablet:

  • thiamine mononitrate: normalization of cardiac activity, ensuring the normal function of the nervous system;
  • riboflavin: promoting tissue regeneration processes, including skin cells;
  • pyridoxine hydrochloride: maintaining the structure and function of bones, teeth, gums; influence on erythropoiesis;
  • cyanocobalamin: contributing to the normal functioning of the nervous system, participation in erythropoiesis and the formation of various enzymes that regulate various types of metabolism in the body;
  • ascorbic acid: normalization of capillary permeability, stimulation of the formation of steroid hormones, regulation of tissue regeneration, carbohydrate metabolism, blood clotting, exchange in connective tissue; oxidation of a number of biologically active substances;

Elevit Pronatal tablets are intended for oral administration.

A single dose should be taken with meals and washed down with water. When planning and during pregnancy, after childbirth and during lactation, the recommended daily dose is 1 tablet.

The duration of the course of therapy is 1 month before conception (when planning it), the entire period of pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Side effects

  • allergic reactions: anaphylactic shock, skin rash, swelling of the face, urticaria, flushing of the skin (in such cases, it is important to cancel therapy and consult a doctor for advice);
  • gastrointestinal tract: nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain;
  • nervous system: irritability, insomnia, dizziness, headache;
  • others: hypercalciuria; stool staining black (due to the presence of iron in tablets), urine staining bright yellow (due to the riboflavin content in Elevit Pronatal) - these phenomena are harmless and have no clinical significance.

Overdose

Excessive intake of Elevit Pronatal can cause hypercalcemia, hypervitaminosis of vitamins A and D, as well as an overdose of iron and copper.

Symptoms of acute overdose: diarrhea, nausea, constipation, vomiting, confusion, sudden headache (in such cases, it is important to stop taking the pills and seek medical help).

Manifestations of an overdose of vitamin C (taken in a dose of more than 15 g): it is possible to develop hemolytic anemia in patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency.

Medicines containing zinc, copper, iron, magnesium or calcium can interact with thiazide diuretics, antiviral drugs, digitalis, trientine, thyroxine, penicillamine, bisphosphonates, levodopa, antibiotics (fluoroquinolones, tetracyclines and) for the treatment of pathologies associated with acidity disorders.
