Prostatilen AC is a combined drug of animal origin used in diseases of the prostate gland.

Release form and composition

The drug is produced in the form of rectal suppositories: from white to yellow, torpedo-shaped, a funnel-shaped depression or an air rod may be present on the cut (5 pcs. Prostatilen AC has an organotropic effect on the prostate gland. The drug helps to reduce the degree of edema, improves microcirculation in the prostate, reduces its leukocyte infiltration, normalizes the secretory function of epithelial cells, increases the number of lecithin grains in the secretion of acini, positively affects the muscle tone of the bladder.

Possessing antiplatelet activity, the agent reduces blood clotting, preventing venule thrombosis in the prostate gland. The drug demonstrates an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effect, reduces the severity of pain syndrome, eliminates such unpleasant symptoms of prostatitis as burning, itching, and urinary problems.

Prostatilen AC leads to a decrease in the concentration of antisperm antibodies, promotes an increase in the level of free testosterone and an increase in the content of progressively motile spermatozoa, as well as their morphologically normal forms. Due to the effect of the drug, blood flow to the genitals increases, the blood supply to the cavernous bodies improves, and the erection increases. It helps to normalize male copulatory function, shows good results in the treatment of the immune form of male infertility.

Pharmacokinetics

In tissues, the regulatory peptides of the prostate extract are degraded by cellular proteases to amino acids, which are involved in the production of tissue-specific proteins and other biologically active compounds.

The drug is used rectally, injecting deep into the anus 1 suppository 1 time per day. The procedure should be carried out after a natural bowel movement or a cleansing enema. The duration of treatment is at least 10 days. The maximum course should not exceed 20 days. A repeated course is allowed no earlier than 28 days after the completion of the previous one.
