Astronauts' diet
The result of harsh, so-called stressful diets is caused by the creation of a situation where the body lacks the substances necessary to ensure life. Under these conditions, it takes energy from reserves: fat depots or muscle fibers. If the diet is a routine calorie restriction, it is easier for the body to take energy from the muscles by breaking down protein, rather than from fat, but if you supply the muscles with excess protein, the body uses up fat. This is the formula for an effective diet: fewer calories, more protein. This is the principle of the "Astronaut Diet".
Despite the name, it has nothing to do with the nutrition of the inhabitants of orbital stations - there is only a similarity in severity and asceticism. The diet consists exclusively of protein products, carbohydrates and fats are excluded, the menu is the same every day.
With a large overweight, it is recommended to follow a diet for 20 days, if the excess weight does not exceed 10 kg, the period should be halved.
Exit from the diet should be gradual and very careful: first, more high-calorie and familiar dishes are included in breakfast (one per day), after a few days - at lunch, and last of all - at dinner.

Advantages of the "Astronaut Diet"
The main advantage of the "Cosmonaut Diet" is the ability to significantly reduce weight in a short time. There are few diets that can provide a 20 kg loss in 20 days. It is important that weight is reduced by breaking down fat, and not by excreting water from the body and reducing muscle mass.
Protein foods take a long time to digest and have a high energy value, therefore, despite a meager diet, the painful feeling of hunger can be avoided.
The advantages of the diet are also the cheapness of products and the absence of the need to prepare complex dishes.
Disadvantages and contraindications of the "Cosmonaut diet"
The meager diet of the "Cosmonaut Diet" quickly becomes boring, which is why it is not easy to sustain it.
Increased fatigue, apathy, irritability, and even fainting often appear. The absence of carbohydrates and fats can negatively affect the functioning of the digestive tract, kidneys, liver, cardiovascular system, as well as the condition of hair, skin and nails. The risk of breakdown is high.
The diet is strictly contraindicated for people with diseases of the kidneys, digestive organs, endocrine disorders.
Before starting a diet, it is necessary to consult a doctor, since a rigid diet can cause a serious deterioration in health in the presence of chronic diseases.
