Linkas is a multicomponent herbal preparation with an expectorant effect.

Release form and composition

A phytopreparation is produced in the form of a syrup: a brown viscous liquid with a characteristic odor (90, 120 or 150 ml each in a brown glass bottle, 1 bottle in a cardboard box complete with a measuring cap).

10 ml of syrup contains the following active substances (in the form of dry extracts):

  • Adhatoda vasica Ness. (adhatoda vascular leaves) - 600 mg;
  • Onosma bracteatum Wall. (onosma bract leaves and flowers) - 100 mg;
  • Zizyphus tujuba Mill. (ziziphus real fruit) - 100 mg;
  • Altea officinalis L. (marshmallow medicinal flowers) - 100 mg;
  • Cordia latifolia (Cordia broadleaf fruit) - 100 mg;
  • Piper longum L. (long pepper fruits and roots) - 100 mg;
  • Alpinia galanga (L.) Willd (alpinia galanga roots and rhizomes) - 50 mg;
  • Hyssopus officinalis L. (hyssop officinalis leaves) - 50 mg;
  • Glycyrrhyza glabra L. (licorice bare roots) - 75 mg;
  • Viola odorata L. (fragrant violets flowers) - 25 mg.

Additional components: anhydrous citric acid, sucrose, propylene glycol, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, glycerin, clove oil, peppermint oil, purified water.

Linkas is a complex Ayurvedic preparation based on medicinal herbs. This remedy has mucolytic, expectorant and anti-inflammatory properties, helps to reduce the intensity and increase the productivity of cough.

Due to the fact that a large number of active components of plant origin are included in the composition of the drug, the study of its pharmacokinetics is currently not possible.

Indications for use

According to the instructions, Linkas is recommended for use for the symptomatic treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract, accompanied by a cough with difficult sputum, such as acute respiratory diseases, influenza, tracheitis, tracheobronchitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, bronchitis of smokers, as well as for the treatment of other respiratory tract diseases inflammatory nature.

Contraindications

  • pregnancy;
  • period of breastfeeding;
  • glucose-galactose malabsorption, fructose intolerance, sucrase / isomaltase deficiency;
  • age up to 6 months;
  • hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Instructions for the use of Linkas: method and dosage

Linkas syrup for cough is taken orally.

Recommended dosage regimen depending on the patient's age:

  • from 6 months to 3 years - 3 times a day, 2.5 ml (½ teaspoon);
  • from 3 to 8 years old - 3 times a day, 5 ml (1 teaspoon);
  • from 8 to 18 years old - 4 times a day, 5 ml (1 teaspoon);
  • over 18 years old - 3-4 times a day, 10 ml (2 teaspoons).

The course of treatment is 5-7 days. By agreement with the doctor, you can increase the duration of taking the drug or repeat therapy.

Side effects

During the period of herbal treatment, allergic reactions may develop.

Patients with diabetes mellitus or adhering to a hypocaloric diet should take into account that sucrose is included in the drug (70%). A single dose for adults (10 ml) contains approximately 7 g of sucrose, which is equivalent to 0.58 bread units (XE).
