Piralgin is a combined drug with sedative, antipyretic, analgesic, antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory effects.
Release form and composition
Piralgin is produced in the form of tablets (10 pcs. In blisters, 1 or 2 packages in a cardboard box).
The composition of 1 tablet contains active substances:
- Caffeine - 0.05 g;
- Codeine - 0.008 g;
- Analgin (metamizole sodium) - 0.3 g;
- Phenobarbital - 0.01 g;
- Naproxen - 0.1 g
Indications for use
- Moderate pain syndrome of various origins, including headache and toothache, migraine, sciatica, menstrual pain, myalgia, neuralgia, arthralgia, primary dysmenorrhea and other conditions (as an anesthetic);
- Feverish conditions of various origins, colds and other diseases, which are accompanied by inflammation and pain syndrome (as an antipyretic agent).
Contraindications
Absolute:
- Bronchospasm;
- Diseases of the blood;
- Ulcers of the stomach and duodenum in the acute stage;
- Heart rhythm disorders;
- Conditions that are accompanied by respiratory depression;
- Increased intracranial pressure, traumatic brain injury;
- Acute myocardial infarction;
- High blood pressure;
- Glaucoma;
- State of alcoholic intoxication;
- Severe functional disorders of the kidneys or liver;
- Deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase;
- Age under 12;
- During pregnancy and breastfeeding;
- Hypersensitivity to drug components.
Relative (Piralgin is prescribed under medical supervision with caution in the presence of the following diseases / conditions):
- Ulcer of the stomach and duodenum (remission);
- Functional disorders of the kidneys or liver;
- Long-term alcohol history;
- Elderly age.
Method of administration and dosage
Piralgin is taken orally.
Recommended dosing regimen: single dose - 1 tablet, frequency of administration - 1-3 times a day. Maximum - 4 tablets per day.
Piralgin should not be taken for more than 5 days without consulting a specialist.
Side effects
Possible side reactions: palpitations, dyspeptic disorders (in the form of vomiting, nausea, epigastric pain, constipation), allergic skin reactions (in the form of rash, itching, urticaria), drowsiness, dizziness.
In some cases, during therapy, there is an inhibition of hematopoiesis (granulocytopenia, leukopenia, agranulocytosis).
Long-term use of high doses can lead to functional impairment of the kidneys and liver.

Prolonged intake of Piralgin without appropriate medical supervision can cause drug dependence.
For the period of treatment, you should stop taking alcohol.
If the treatment lasts longer than 5 days, it is necessary to monitor the functional state of the liver and the picture of peripheral blood.
In patients with acute abdominal pain, taking Piralgin may make it difficult to establish a diagnosis.
While taking Piralgin, it is recommended to give up driving and perform potentially hazardous work that requires increased concentration of attention and quick psychomotor reactions.
Drug interactions
With the combined use of Piralgin with certain drugs / substances, the following effects may be observed:
- Cyclosporine: a decrease in its plasma concentration level;
- Non-opioid analgesics: increased toxicity;
- Oral contraceptives, tricyclic antidepressants, allopurinol: increased toxicity of metamizole sodium;
- Tranquilizers, sedatives: strengthening the analgesic effect of Piralgin;
- Phenylbutazone, barbiturates: weakening the toxic effect of sodium metamizole.
Analogs
The analogue of Piralgin is Pentalgin-N.
Terms and conditions of storage
Store in a dark, dry place out of reach of children at temperatures up to 25 ° C.
The shelf life is 3 years.
