The action of the drug is carried out due to the active substance piperazine adipate, which paralyzes nematode worms with an efficiency of about 95%. With repeated use of Piperazine, its effectiveness is 100%.

Indications for the use of Piperazine
The medicine is prescribed for enterobiasis - infection with pinworms, and ascariasis - infection with ascaris.
Separately, it should be noted that during pregnancy, Piperazine is the only anthelmintic drug allowed for women during this period.
Lactating women who are infected with pinworms or ascaris can also take only piperazine adipate.
Method of administration and dosage
With ascariasis, adult patients take 1.5-2 g of medication, while taking into account that the permissible daily dosage is 3-4 g.
Piperazine in a dosage of 1.5-2 grams is given to children 13-15 liters; 1-2 grams - in 9-12 liters; 0.75-1.5 grams - in 6-8 liters; 0.5-1 grams - in 4-5 liters; 0.3-0.6 grams - in 2-3 g; 0.2-0.4 grams - for children under one year old.
For the treatment of ascariasis, Piperazine is taken for 2 days daily in two doses, one hour before meals.
With enterobiasis, the medicine is taken in the same doses, but longer - within 5 days. At the same time, to get rid of pinworms, it is necessary to go through 1-3 courses, between which weekly breaks are made.
Since the drug only paralyzes the worms and does not ensure their excretion, in order to avoid poisoning by the products of their decay, it is necessary to remove worms from the rectum with a cleansing enema. An enema solution is prepared from 200-600 ml of water and soda. There are 0.25 teaspoons of soda per 100 ml of water.
With ascariasis, an enema is given after undergoing treatment, and with enterobiasis - between courses during each weekly break.
During lactation, during pregnancy, Piperazine for helminthiasis is prescribed according to the same scheme, but a doctor's consultation is necessary.
Anthelmintic therapy with Piperazine does not require dieting or laxatives (unless the patient is constipated).
During prolonged treatment of enterobiasis, the rules of daily hygiene should be strictly observed.
