Release form and composition
The agent is available in the form of a solution for oral administration, local and external use; is a transparent yellow liquid of varying intensity of staining, may have a greenish tint (in 20 ml vials, 8 vials in a cardboard box; 100 ml vials, 1 vial in a cardboard box).
Active substance in 1 ml of solution: sterile purified filtrates of phagolysates of Streptococcus, Enterococcus, Staphylococcus bacteria, enteropathogenic Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis and Proteus vulgaris (with an activity of at least 10 -5 according to Appelman), Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas activity not less than 10 -4 according to Appelman) - up to 1 ml.
A preservative is used as an auxiliary component: 8-hydroxyquinoline sulfate (0.0001 g / ml) or 8-hydroxyquinoline sulfate monohydrate (0.0001 g / ml in terms of 8-hydroxyquinoline sulfate).
Pharmacological properties
The complex pyobacteriophage causes specific lysis of the following bacteria: Streptococcus, Enterococcus, Staphylococcus, enteropathogenic Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus mirabilis, Proteus vulgaris, Klebsiella oxytoca, Klebsiella pneumoniae.
Indications for use
According to the instructions, the complex Pyobacteriophage is used for the treatment and prevention of pyoinflammatory and intestinal diseases caused by streptococci, enterococci, staphylococci, Klebsiella, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus, Escherichia coli of various serogroups. In particular, the indications for prescribing the drug are:
- enteric infections: dysbiosis, gastroenterocolitis, cholecystitis;
- diseases of the ENT organs, respiratory tract and lungs: inflammation of the middle ear and sinuses, laryngitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, tracheitis, bronchitis, pleurisy, pneumonia;
- urinary tract infections: cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis;
- genital infections: salpingo-oophoritis, endometritis, colpitis;
- generalized forms of septic diseases;
- post-traumatic ophthalmic diseases: conjunctivitis, keratoconjunctivitis, iridocyclitis, purulent corneal ulcers;
- surgical infections: carbuncles, boils, phlegmon, abscess, panaritium, hydradenitis, burns, wound suppuration, osteomyelitis, bursitis, mastitis, paraproctitis;
- purulent-inflammatory diseases of newborns, including conjunctivitis, omphalitis, pyoderma, gastroenterocolitis, sepsis;
- other diseases caused by enterococci, streptococci, staphylococci, Proteus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonia, Klebsiella oxytoca.
For prophylactic purposes, Piobacteriophage complex is used to prevent the development of nosocomial infections (according to epidemic indications), as well as to treat freshly infected and surgical wounds.
Contraindications
The drug may be contraindicated for use only in the presence of hypersensitivity to its components.
Instructions for the use of Piobacteriophage complex: method and dosage
Methods of using complex pyobacteriophage, depending on the nature of the focus of infection:
- instillation, rinsing, rinsing and introduction of moistened turundas for diseases of ENT organs: 2-10 ml 1-3 times a day, turundas soaked in a bacteriophage are left for 1 hour;
- instillation into the conjunctival sac: for conjunctivitis and keratoconjunctivitis - 2-3 drops 4-5 times a day; with purulent corneal ulcer - 4-5 drops, with purulent iridocyclitis - 6-8 drops every 3 hours, combining topical application of the drug with oral administration;
- irrigation, lotions and tamponing: in an amount of up to 200 ml of the drug, depending on the size of the lesion. In case of abscesses, the solution is injected into the cavity of the focus after removal of pus by puncture in a slightly smaller amount than the volume of removed pus. In osteomyelitis, a bacteriophage is poured into the wound after appropriate surgical treatment in an amount of 10–20 ml;
- rinsing the mouth for stomatitis and chronic generalized periodontitis: 10–20 ml 3-4 times a day. It is also possible to inject bacteriophage-soaked turundas into periodontal pockets for 5-10 minutes;
- introduction into limited cavities, including articular, pleural: in an amount of up to 100 ml of the drug, after which capillary drainage is left and the drug is re-injected through it for several days;
- introduction into the cavity of the vagina and uterus for purulent-inflammatory gynecological diseases: 5-10 ml once a day;
- inside and in the form of an enema for dysbiosis, intestinal forms of diseases and diseases of internal organs: inside - 1 hour before meals 3 times a day, in the form of an enema - 1 time per day instead of one ingestion;
- inside for urinary tract infections; in the presence of drainage into the cavity of the renal pelvis or bladder: the drug is administered through the nephrostomy / cystostomy 1-2 times a day - into the renal pelvis - 5–7 ml each, into the bladder - 20–50 ml each.
Recommended dosages of Piobacteriophage complex for patients of different ages when taken orally / used as an enema:
- to 1 / 2 years - 5 ml / 10 ml;
- 1 / 2 -1 year -10 ml / 20 ml;
- 1-3 years - 15 ml / 30 ml;
- 3–8 years old - 20 ml / 40 ml;
- 8 years and older - 30 ml / 50 ml.
Treatment of pyoinflammatory diseases with localized lesions is carried out simultaneously both locally and orally. Duration, depending on clinical indications, is 7–20 days.
The appointment of the complex Pyobacteriophage does not exclude the use of other antibacterial drugs. After using a chemical antiseptic to the bacteriophage, the wound must be thoroughly washed with a sterile 0.9% sodium chloride solution.
The use of the drug in children under the age of six months
In case of enterocolitis and sepsis in newborns, including premature infants, bacteriophage is injected in the form of high enemas (through a catheter or gas tube) 2 or 3 times a day. If the child does not have regurgitation or vomiting, Pyobacteriophage complex can be used internally (mixed with breast milk) and / or combined rectal and oral administration.
The duration of therapy is from 5 to 15 days. In cases of a recurrent course of the disease, repeated courses are carried out.
For the prevention of enterocolitis and sepsis in case of intrauterine infection or the presence of a risk of nosocomial infection, a bacteriophage is administered to newborns in the form of enemas 2 times a day for 5–7 days.
For infected wounds, pyoderma, omphalitis, the complex pyobacteriophage is used 2 times a day in the form of applications: a gauze napkin is moistened with the drug and applied to the umbilical wound or the affected area of the skin.

- Without opening the plug, remove the protective cap from it.
- If the cork is opened, do not lay it on the inside on a table or other surfaces.
