Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Flukorem is an antifungal drug with a wide spectrum of action for topical and external use. Its active ingredient, fluconazole, is a triazole derivative. The mechanism of action of the drug is due to the blockade of cytochrome P 450 as a result of selective inhibition of sterol synthesis in fungal cell membranes.
The use of fluconazole is effective in the treatment of opportunistic mycoses, including those caused by Microsporum speciales (spp.), Trichophyton spp., Candida spp. (including generalized forms of candidiasis against the background of immunosuppression), Cryptococcus neoformans, Coccidioides immitis (including intracranial infections).
In case of endemic mycoses, such microorganisms as Blastomyces dermatitidis, Histoplasma capsulatum are sensitive to fluconazole (including during immunosuppression).
When applied topically and externally, its activity has been established against dermatophytes, fungi (yeasts and molds) and microorganisms that cause dermatomycosis [Pityriasis versicolor, or pityriasis versicolor] and cutaneous candidiasis (Trichophyton spp., Candida spp., Microsporum spp., Epidermophyton spp., Malassezia furfur or Pityrosporum orbiculare).
