Coldakt Flu Plus is a combined preparation with antipyretic, antihistamine, analgesic, anti-congestive and alpha-adrenomimetic action. It is used for the symptomatic treatment of colds and acute respiratory diseases (ARI).

Release form and composition

  • extended-release capsules: size no. 0, hard, gelatinous, with a transparent body and a red cap; contents - pellets of almost white or white, yellow and from orange to red color (10 pcs. in blisters, in a cardboard box of 1 or 10 blisters);
  • suspension for oral administration: orange in color with a characteristic odor (in dark glass bottles of 60 ml, in a cardboard box 1 bottle complete with a dosing spoon).

Capsules

Active ingredients in 1 capsule:

  • paracetamol - 200 mg;
  • phenylephrine hydrochloride - 25 mg;
  • chlorphenamine maleate - 8 mg.

Additional components:

  • excipients: Non Pareil Seeds 18/22 granules (sugar crumbs: starch syrup, sucrose), diethyl phthalate, microcrystalline cellulose, ethyl cellulose, hypromellose, disodium edetate, sodium disulfite, povidone, talc, isopropanol (lost during production), purified water is lost during the production process), dyes sunset yellow, quinoline yellow and crimson (Ponso 4 R);

Pharmacological properties

Coldakt Flu Plus is a long-acting drug with a combined composition.

Paracetamol has an analgesic and antipyretic effect: it reduces high body temperature, reduces the pain syndrome characteristic of colds - sore throat, joint, muscle and headache.

Phenylephrine has a vasoconstrictor property: it reduces hyperemia and edema of the mucous membranes of the paranasal sinuses and upper respiratory tract.

Chlorphenamine has an anti-allergic effect: it eliminates itching in the nose and eyes, as well as watery eyes.

Indications for use

Coldakt Flu Plus is used for the symptomatic treatment of influenza, colds and acute respiratory viral infections (to eliminate rhinorrhea, febrile and pain syndromes).

Contraindications

  • thyrotoxicosis;
  • diabetes;
  • diseases of the pancreas;
  • peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum;
  • severe diseases of the heart, kidneys, liver, bladder;

Instructions for the use of Coldact Flu Plus: method and dosage

Coldact Flu Plus should be taken orally. The suspension bottle must be shaken before each dose.

Capsules for adults and adolescents from 12 years old are prescribed 1 pc. 2 times a day (at 12-hour intervals) with a course of 3-5 days.

Single doses of the drug in the form of a suspension:

  • for adults and adolescents from 12 years old - 10 ml (2 teaspoons);
  • for children 6–12 years old - 5 ml (1 teaspoon).

The frequency of admission is 3-4 times a day.

You can take Coldakt Flu Plus no more than 3 days as an antipyretic agent, no more than 5 days as an analgesic.

Side effects

During the period of therapy with Coldact Flu Plus, the following side effects may develop: sleep disturbance, drowsiness, increased excitability, dizziness, increased blood pressure, tachycardia, increased intraocular pressure, paresis of accommodation, mydriasis, dry mucous membranes, impaired appetite, pain in the epigastric region, nausea; rarely - leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis, anemia; very rarely - allergic reactions (urticaria, itching, skin rash, angioedema), urinary retention.

With prolonged use of the drug in high doses, the development of nephrotoxic and hepatotoxic effects is possible.

Overdose

In case of a significant excess of the recommended dose (more than 10,000-15,000 mg of paracetamol), an overdose may develop, manifested by pallor of the skin, decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting, increased activity of hepatic transaminases, hepatonecrosis, and increased prothrombin time.

If no more than 6 hours have passed after administration, gastric lavage should be performed. Within 8-9 hours after an overdose, donors of SH-groups and precursors of glutathione synthesis (methionine) are administered, within 12 hours N-acetylcysteine is administered.

If you accidentally take a dose that significantly exceeds the recommended one, you must immediately consult a doctor, even if there are no negative symptoms.
