The advantages of the buckwheat diet

The main plus of the buckwheat diet is that you can eat as much as you want, so the painful feeling of hunger does not threaten those who are losing weight. In addition, unlike many others, the buckwheat diet does not cause weakness, lethargy and dizziness in most people. The high fiber content of buckwheat porridge helps to cleanse the intestines. The condition of the skin and nails improves due to the micro- and macroelements (iron, potassium, calcium, silicon) and vitamins (groups B, E, PP) available in buckwheat. The metabolism and the work of the cardiovascular system are normalized.

For two weeks, the buckwheat diet takes up to 12 kg of excess weight. Buckwheat is a cheap, affordable and easy to prepare product.

Disadvantages and contraindications of the buckwheat diet

Buckwheat diet is tough, the diet is not suitable for everyone. First of all, spend one fasting day on buckwheat porridge and kefir to observe the body's reaction. If you feel unwell, you should choose a different power system.

During the buckwheat diet, chronic diseases can be aggravated.

The buckwheat diet has the following contraindications:

  • anemia;
  • diabetes;
  • hypotension (often in people prone to hypotension, with a buckwheat diet, blood pressure decreases);
  • the period of pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Among the relative contraindications to the buckwheat diet, requiring consultation with a doctor, are diseases of the digestive system, heart or renal failure, depression, and previous operations on the abdominal organs.

What foods are allowed?

The basis of the diet is buckwheat porridge, which is prepared in advance, in the evening. There are three ways to prepare it.

  1. The simplest and fastest way: the cereals are washed and poured with boiling water, after which they are left in a container under a lid overnight. Nothing is added, including excluding salt and sugar.
  2. A way for those who prefer boiled cereals. Take buckwheat and water in a 1: 2 ratio. The washed cereal is poured with cold water, brought to a boil and cooked without spices over high heat in a saucepan with an open lid until the water is almost completely absorbed. Then buckwheat is separated from the walls of the pan, forming a cone from it, covered with a lid and kept on low heat for another six minutes. After that, wrap the pan with a blanket and leave it until morning.
  3. The washed buckwheat is poured with boiling water. Then the water is drained and boiling water is added again: a glass of buckwheat for one and a half cups of boiling water. The pot is covered with a lid, wrapped and left until morning.

Kefir (necessarily 1% or fat-free, and no more than three days should pass from the moment of its manufacture) is consumed separately or poured into porridge. You can replace kefir with natural low-fat yogurt.

Allowed clean and mineral water without gas, green, black and herbal teas, coffee. You can add lemon wedge or lemon juice to water and tea.

It is allowed to season the porridge with a teaspoon of honey and dried fruits (prunes, dried apricots, raisins) - five to six large berries per day. Occasionally it is permissible to season the porridge with vegetable oil and add one or two rings of raw onion.

During the day, it is permissible to eat several fresh apples.

What foods are prohibited?

All products other than those listed above are prohibited.

The daily menu includes an unlimited amount of buckwheat porridge and 1 liter of kefir. Also, during the diet, they drink 1.5-3 liters of water per day.

Food is taken five to six times a day, dinner is not later than four hours before bedtime. If you feel hungry before going to bed, you can drink a glass of kefir.

Advice 1. During the diet, it is recommended to drink herbal teas: chamomile, mint, sage, string, calendula.

Advice 2. To maintain the result, you need to return to the usual diet after the diet gradually, over ten days or longer. First, vegetables and fruits are introduced into the diet. Carbohydrates and fatty foods are added in small portions, following the reaction of the body. For the first two to three days, boiled eggs and green tea with a little sugar are recommended for breakfast.
