Espol is a drug with an analgesic and local irritant effect.
Composition and form of release of Espola
Espol is produced in the form of a light brown ointment intended for external use with a specific odor. 1 g of ointment contains:
- Chloroform - 25 mg;
- Dense extract of paprika - 100 mg;
- Coriander essential oil - 2.5 mg;
- Lavender essential oil - 2.5 mg;
- Dimethyl sulfoxide - 30 mg.
Additional components: medical petroleum jelly, anhydrous lanolin.
In aluminum tubes of 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 or 40 g.
An analogue of Espol is the drug Nikoflex. In addition, the Pepper plaster can be used as an analogue of Espol.

The drug is of plant origin and has an analgesic, local irritating and distracting effect on the body. The use of the ointment enhances local blood circulation. It is used to quickly treat closed injuries.

Indications for use of Espola
According to the instructions, Espol is indicated for the treatment of:
- Sprains and ruptures of ligaments, bruises without violating the integrity of the skin;
- Arthralgia, myositis, lumbosacral radiculitis, lumbago, arthritis;
- Consequences of bone fractures, joint dislocations and ligament sprains;
- Muscle and neuralgic pains.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated to apply the ointment to the skin when their integrity is violated (that is, to open wounds). In addition, it is forbidden to use the drug under the age of two years, during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as well as in case of hypersensitivity to one or more of its components.
Espol dosage and dosage regimen
According to the instructions, Espol ointment is intended exclusively for external use. As a rule, it is rubbed onto the affected skin with a thin layer two to three times a day. After applying the ointment to the skin, it is recommended to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. To increase the therapeutic effect, you can apply a dry, warming dressing on top.
The duration of treatment is one to ten days.
