Eucalyptus-M is an antiseptic phytopreparation of antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory action for topical use in otolaryngology.
Release form and composition
- lozenges: round, flat, with a beveled edge and a rough surface, have a characteristic odor; color - from greenish with yellow to greenish with a yellow-brown tint; the caramel mass can be unevenly colored, with the inclusion of air bubbles and a slight unevenness of the edges (2, 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 lozenges in blisters, in a cardboard box 1–5 blisters);
- lozenges: round, flat, with a beveled edge, engraved with "NP" on both sides with a stylized image of a tree; color - light green interspersed with lighter and darker shades of green; have a characteristic smell of eucalyptus and menthol (10 tablets in blisters / strips, in a cardboard box 2 blisters / strips).
1 lozenge contains:
- active ingredients: levomenthol - 6 mg, eucalyptus oil - 5.5 mg;
- auxiliary ingredients: sucrose, liquid dextrose, natural oil (oil extract of a mixture of 11 types of herbal medicinal raw materials: yarrow roots, peppermint leaves, plantain leaves, common thyme herb, common sage leaves, common fennel fruits, blue cornflower flowers, calendula flowers, mullein flowers, chamomile flowers, linden flowers in soybean oil), honey flavor, vegetable dye from spinach and nettle leaf extract, purified water.
1 tablet contains:
- active ingredients: levomenthol - 6 mg, eucalyptus oil - 5.5 mg;
- auxiliary ingredients: sorbitol, saccharin, magnesium stearate, quinoline yellow (E-104) and indigo carmine (E-132) dyes, honey flavor.
Pharmacological properties
A specially selected complex of natural active substances in the composition of lozenges and tablets for resorption Eucalyptus-M has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic effect when applied topically in ENT practice.
Indications for use
According to the instructions, Eucalyptus-M is recommended for use in inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract and pharynx (laryngitis, pharyngitis, tracheitis).
Contraindications
The drug is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of its components, as well as in children under the age of 8 years.
Eucalyptus-M lozenges are prescribed with caution to patients with diabetes mellitus.
Instructions for use Eucalyptus-M: method and dosage
Eucalyptus-M lozenges / tablets are intended for absorption in the oral cavity until complete dissolution. The drug should not be chewed.
Recommended dosage:
- adults: 1 lozenge / tablet 3-4 times a day;
- children 8 years and older: 1-2 lozenges / tablets per day.
The duration of the course of therapy should not exceed five days.
Side effects
Eucalyptus-M can cause hypersensitivity reactions and, in rare cases, digestive disorders (belching, heartburn, a feeling of fullness in the stomach, etc.).
