Psilo-balm is an anti-allergic drug for external use.
Release form and composition
Dosage form - gel for external use 1%: a transparent colorless mass with a homogeneous structure (20 g or 50 g in an aluminum tube, in a cardboard box 1 tube).
1 g of gel contains:
- active substance: diphenhydramine hydrochloride - 10 mg;
- auxiliary components: cetylpyridinium chloride, softigen 767 (macrogol glyceryl capilicaprate), trometamol, polyacrylic acid, purified water.
Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Diphenhydramine hydrochloride is a histamine H1 receptor blocker. The pronounced antihistamine activity helps to reduce increased capillary permeability, itching, tissue edema, and hyperemia.
According to the instructions, Psilo-balm has antiallergic, local anesthetic and cooling effect.
The special gel base protects the skin without leaving visible marks.
Indications for use
- burns of various origins of the 1st degree;
- sunburn;
- insect bites;
- chicken pox;
- itching of various etiologies;
- hives;
- itchy eczema;
- contact dermatitis caused by contact with plants;
- allergic skin irritations (except for itching with cholestasis).
Contraindications
- age up to 2 years;
- breast-feeding;
- hypersensitivity to drug components.
The gel should be used with caution during pregnancy.
Instructions for use of Psilo-balm: method and dosage
The gel is applied externally, applying a thin layer to the affected skin and rubbing in with light movements.
Recommended dosage: 2-3 g (or at the rate of: a strip of gel 3-5 cm long on the affected area equivalent to the size of the palm) 3-4 times a day.
Side effects
The use of Psilo-balm can cause allergic reactions in the form of skin manifestations.
Overdose
Overdose in the treatment of large areas of affected skin is manifested by intoxication, the symptoms of which are: shortness of breath, dry mouth, confusion, agitation.
In case of an overdose, symptomatic therapy is carried out under close monitoring of the patient's respiratory function and blood pressure.
