Polyphepan is a natural enterosorbent with a non-specific detoxifying effect.

Release form and composition

  • Powder for oral administration: amorphous, dark brown, odorless (10, 50, 80, 100, 200 or 250 g each in polymer-coated paper bags or polymer bags, or bags made of combined material, in a cardboard box 10 bags each 10 g or 1 bag of 50, 80, 100, 200 or 250 g);

The active substance of the preparation: polyphepan (hydrolytic lignin) is a product of hydrolysis of wood components of a polymer of lignin, the structural elements of which are derivatives of hydrocellulose and phenylpropane:

  • 1 tablet - 0.375 g.

The auxiliary substance of granules is sucrose, of tablets - lactose (milk sugar).

Hydrolytic lignin has a high sorption activity and has a non-specific detoxifying effect.

Polyphepan in the lumen of the gastrointestinal tract binds pathogenic bacteria and bacterial toxins, allergens, drugs, heavy metal salts, poisons, alcohol, and then removes them from the body. Also, the drug sorbs excess of certain metabolic products, including bilirubin, cholesterol, urea, metabolites, which are responsible for the development of endogenous toxicosis.

Polyphepan is not absorbed and is not toxic.

Within 24 hours it is excreted from the intestines in full.

Indications for use

  • Exogenous and endogenous toxicosis of various origins (as a detoxifying agent);
  • Acute poisoning with drugs, heavy metal salts, alkaloids, alcohol or other poisons (as first aid);
  • Complex treatment of food toxicoinfections, dyspepsia, dysbacteriosis, salmonellosis, dysentery and pyoinflammatory diseases, accompanied by intoxication;
  • Lipid metabolism disorders (obesity, atherosclerosis);
  • Renal and hepatic impairment;
  • Food and drug allergies.

According to the instructions, Polyphepan is also used to remove xenobiotics from the body.

Contraindications

  • Intestinal atony;
  • Anacid gastritis;
  • Exacerbation of gastric ulcer and 12 duodenal ulcer;

Instructions for the use of Polyphepan: method and dosage

Polyphepan should be taken orally 1 hour before meals or other medications.

The powder and granules must be stirred in a small amount of water (50-100 ml) immediately before taking, and can be taken dry with water.

The tablets can be swallowed whole or crushed and washed down with water.

The dose depends on the type and severity of the disease, ranging from 0.5 to 1 g / kg / day.

Average doses:

  • Adults - 1 tbsp. granules / powder 3-4 times a day or 4-6 tablets 3 times a day (6-9 g per day);
  • Children over 7 years old - 1 tbsp. granules / powder 3-4 times a day;
  • Children 1-7 years old - 1 dess. l. granules / powder 3-4 times a day;
  • Infants - ½-1 tsp. powder 3-4 times a day.

The duration of the use of Polyphepan in acute conditions is 3-5 days, with chronic intoxications and allergic diseases - up to 14 days.

If necessary, a second course is carried out after 2 weeks.

In the vast majority of cases, Polyphepan is well tolerated; in rare cases, constipation and allergic reactions are possible.

With long-term treatment (more than 20 days), a violation of the absorption of calcium and vitamins is possible.
