Nimid is an anti-inflammatory agent.
pharmachologic effect
Nimide belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs - sulfonanilides and has antipyretic, analgesic effects.
It is also noticed that the use of Nimid makes it possible to reduce bronchospasm caused by histamine and acetaldehyde.
Nimid tablets and dissolved powder are well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, while food reduces the rate of absorption, but does not have an effect on the therapeutic effect of the agent.
Release form
Nimid gel, powder, suspension and Nimid tablets are produced.
Indications for the use of Nimid
Suspension, tablets and Nimid powder diluted with water are taken orally: for diseases of the joints, bones, muscles (bursitis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, myalgia, tendonitis), as an analgesic after operations, injuries, for various diseases in gynecology, dentistry, ENT practice …
Also, the use of Nimid inside is indicated for fever that occurs in diseases of the upper respiratory tract, upper respiratory tract.
Gel Nimid is used exclusively externally for degenerative diseases of the musculoskeletal system of an inflammatory nature, accompanied by pain and swelling: arthritis gouty, psoriatic, rheumatoid and rheumatic, ankylosing spondylitis, Reiter's syndrome, tendonitis, tendosynovitis, myositis, osteoarthritis, myalgia, neuralgia, osteoarthritis, osteoarthritis, lumbago. Also, the gel is effective for soft tissue inflammation that occurs after injuries, sprains, ligament ruptures and bruises.
Methods of administration and doses
Nimid tablets, ready-made suspension or Nimid powder diluted in warm water are taken after meals. Adults are prescribed 100 mg / day (not more than 400 mg) two times a day. For children after 12 years of age, the suspension, Nimid tablets are given at the rate of 1.5 mg / kg two r / day. The permissible daily dosage for children is 5 mg / kg of body weight. According to Nimid's instructions, with a weight of more than 40 kg, children over 12 years old can be given 100 mg of the drug two times a day and the maximum dosage for them is 200 mg / day.
Nimid gel is applied, without rubbing, in a thin layer to the area where pain is felt about 4 r / day. It is necessary to thoroughly wash your hands after applying the gel.
Side effects
After using Nimid inside, rash, urticaria, itching, angioedema, nausea, gastralgia, diarrhea, abdominal pain, constipation, increased sweating may occur, an ulcer, perforation, and bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract may form.
Also, Nimid's instructions indicate that drowsiness, headache, acute hepatitis, dizziness, thrombocytopenic purpura, shortness of breath, bronchospasm, cholestasis, hematuria, jaundice, anemia, eosinophilia, dyspnoea, increased blood pressure, tachycardia, hot flashes, asthenia, visual impairment, hypothermia, hypokalemia.
Nimid gel can cause flaking, skin irritation, hives. In patients with sensitivity to aspirin and other non-steroids, the gel can cause vasomotor rhinitis, Quincke's edema, dyspnea, bronchospasm.
Contraindications
According to the instructions, Nimid is contraindicated in the presence of gastrointestinal ulcers, severe liver and kidney pathologies, a tendency to bleeding, heart failure, hypersensitivity to the active substance of the drug.
Also, Nimid is not prescribed for lactating, pregnant women, patients with drug addiction and suffering from chronic alcoholism, children under 12 years old, patients with fever with suspected influenza or surgical acute pathology.
The gel is contraindicated in case of dermatitis or damage to the integrity of the skin at the site of treatment, with "aspirin" asthma, women with pregnancy in the 3rd trimester, children under 12 years of age.
