The name of the diet is associated with the Mayo Clinic (USA), which specializes in the treatment of various pathologies, including obesity.
The main principle of the Mayo diet: the basis of the diet is a low-calorie vegetable soup, which is eaten in small portions at each meal. The diet also includes a set of certain foods that cannot be replaced. Dishes are prepared without the use of oil. It is important to drink plenty of clean, still water throughout the day.
During the diet, moderate physical activity (dancing, running or cycling) is recommended, it is better to refuse strength training.
The Mayo Diet is designed for seven days, but you can stick to it for longer. In this case, short breaks (two to three days) are recommended between diet courses.

What foods are allowed?
To prepare the fat-burning soup, you will need the following products:
- white cabbage - medium head;
- tomatoes - 3-5 pcs. medium size;
- bulgarian pepper - 2 pcs. medium size;
- onions - 6 medium onions;
- a bunch of celery;
- salt, curry, black pepper.
Preparation: Wash vegetables, chop, add cold water and bring to a boil over high heat, cook for 8-10 minutes, then reduce heat and cook until softened. At the end of cooking, the soup is salted and spices are added.
It is not recommended to cook the soup for several days, it is better to cook a fresh portion every day. If losing weight is absent from home, the soup can be poured into a thermos and satisfy their hunger as needed.
In addition to soup, only the products indicated on the menu for the day are used.
For vegetables, preference is given to leafy greens (spinach, lettuce and sorrel) and vegetables that are high in fiber and fiber (zucchini, radishes, cucumbers and tomatoes).
It is allowed to lightly salt food and add some seasonings, avoiding spicy ones.
