Release form and composition
The dosage form of the drug is an oil for external use: transparent, colorless or light yellow or light yellow with a greenish tinge, has a specific smell (in a cardboard box 1 dropper bottle or a bottle of 15, 25, 30, 50 or 100 ml).
The active ingredient in the preparation: fir oil (natural mixture of bornyl acetate, monoterpene hydrocarbons, sesquiterpenes and borneol) - 100%.
Pharmacological properties

When applied externally, the drug has anti-inflammatory, local irritating and analgesic effects.
Indications for use
As a local anesthetic, fir oil is prescribed in the following cases:
- pain syndrome caused by diseases of the nervous system (plexalgia, neuritis, radiculitis, neuralgia);
- diseases of the musculoskeletal system (myositis, arthritis, arthralgia, synovitis) during exacerbations and in order to prevent exacerbations.
For sprains of tendons and muscles in sports medicine, fir oil is used as a warming massage agent.
Contraindications
- violation of the integrity of the skin;
- tumors of the peripheral nervous system;
- acute infectious diseases;
- skin diseases (including dermatitis of bacterial, viral and fungal etiology);
- pregnancy and lactation;
- individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
Instructions for the use of fir oil: method and dosage
Fir oil is applied externally.
The drug is applied to the skin in the area of pain and rubbed in with light circular movements for 2-3 minutes. After that, paper for compresses is applied and closed for several hours (preferably at night) with a warm woolen cloth. To enhance the healing effect, dry heat can be used topically before applying the oil.
The drug is used daily for 2-10 days. After 1-2 weeks the course is repeated.
Side effects
In isolated cases, the development of local allergic reactions (moderate skin redness) can be observed.
Overdose
When applied abundantly to the skin, fir oil can cause increased cardiac activity, since it penetrates deeply through the skin into the body. Allergic reactions may also occur.

Avoid getting the oil on the mucous membrane of the eyes. In case of accidental contact, rinse your eyes with water or 2% baking soda solution.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
According to the instructions, fir oil is not prescribed during pregnancy / lactation.
