Herbion ginseng is a herbal remedy that has a tonic and stimulating effect on the central nervous system, reduces drowsiness, increased fatigue and general weakness, increases physical and mental abilities, the adaptive capacity of the body and blood pressure, activates the adrenal glands, helps to reduce glucose and cholesterol levels in blood.

Release form and composition

Dosage form - capsules: size No. 1, hard gelatinous, with a body and a light brown cap or with a yellow body and a black cap; contents - granulate or hygroscopic powder of yellowish-brown color with visible inclusions of white color (10 pcs. in blisters, 24 pcs. in dark glass bottles, 30 pcs. in polyethylene bottles with first opening control, in a cardboard box 3 blisters or 1 bottle).

Active ingredient: dry standardized extract of real ginseng roots * - 350 mg, including ginsenosides - 21 mg (6%).

* Dry standardized extract prepared from the roots of real ginseng (Panax ginseng S. A. Meyer) - plants of the Araliaceae family and dextrose in a ratio of 2.5–5: 1:

  • ginseng of real roots dry native extract - 30–45%;
  • dextrose - 55–70%.

Ethanol 70% is used as an extractant.

Auxiliary components: colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, lactose monohydrate, talc, magnesium stearate, corn starch.

Side effects

When using the drug in the recommended doses, side effects usually do not occur.

In rare cases, with prolonged use in high doses, the following are possible: increased nervous irritability, sleep disturbance, insomnia, headache, increased blood pressure, tachycardia, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, hypoglycemia, nosebleeds, allergic skin reactions (rash, edema).

In case of an overdose, side effects may increase, in particular insomnia, high blood pressure and allergic reactions. Treatment is symptomatic.

Drug interactions

Herbion ginseng:

  • increases the effect of hypoglycemic drugs;
  • enhances the effect of psychostimulants and analeptics (including camphor and caffeine);
  • increases the risk of developing resistance to loop diuretics;
  • shows antagonism with drugs that depress the central nervous system (including tranquilizers, barbiturates and antiepileptic drugs).

Ginseng preparations are not recommended to be used concomitantly with warfarin, since the INR (International Normalized Ratio) may decrease.
