Tsiteal is a drug for external use with antibacterial, antifungal, antiprotozoal action.

Release form and composition

Dosage form - solution for external use: a light yellow liquid with a viscous structure and a characteristic odor, foams when shaken (250 ml or 1000 ml in a polyethylene bottle).

100 ml of solution contains:

  • active ingredients: hexamidine diisothionate - 100 mg, chlorocresol - 300 mg, chlorhexidine bigluconate (20% solution) - 100 mg;
  • auxiliary components: diethanolamide of coconut oil fatty acids, cocamidopropyl betaine (laurylamidobetaine 30%), lactic acid, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, purified water, coniferol flavor.

Indications for use

  • antiseptic treatment of the hands of surgical medical personnel;
  • treatment of skin and mucous surfaces in case of injury, mycosis, ulcers, eczema, acne, diaper rash, dermatitis with concomitant bactericidal infections, vaginitis, vulvitis, cervicitis and other pathologies;
  • prevention of sexually transmitted infections.

Contraindications

  • the period of pregnancy and breastfeeding;
  • individual intolerance to the components of the solution.

Method of administration and dosage

The solution is intended for external use by treating the required areas of the body with a tampon soaked in the solution or applying applications to them (including under occlusive dressings).

The drug is used in pure form or diluted in water in a ratio of 1:10 before direct use.

Recommended drug concentration:

  • vulvitis: undiluted solution;
  • fungal or microbial vaginitis: an aqueous solution (1:10) - against the background of specific treatment, daily douching is prescribed, for prevention - every 3 days;
  • cervicitis, recurrent infectious diseases of the genital organs: undiluted or aqueous solution;
  • mycoses, including pityriasis versicolor, fungal diaper rash, dermatophytosis of the feet: undiluted solution, use daily for treatment, for prevention - every 3 days;
  • bacterial eczema, acne: undiluted or aqueous solution;
  • diaper rash in children: aqueous solution;
  • ulcers of the lower extremities, primary bacterial dermatoses (folliculitis, impetigo, furunculosis, carbunculosis): aqueous solution;
  • antiseptic treatment of the hands of medical personnel: undiluted solution.

Therapeutic applications of the drug are carried out daily, the duration of the course is 10-15 days.

Prophylactic use of the drug should be continued for 90–180 days (frequency - 2 times a week).

After antiseptic treatment, rinse the skin with plenty of water.

Side effects

Against the background of the use of Cyteal, local reactions may appear in the form of itching, tingling, burning, dry skin, with prolonged therapy - redness of the skin of the problem area of the body.

In addition, the solution can cause contact eczema, contact dermatitis, more often when applied to ulcerated or damaged skin.

special instructions

It is not recommended to use Tsiteal for the treatment of ophthalmic diseases and the treatment of the external auditory canal with suspected perforation of the tympanic membrane.

The solution should be used with caution when treating children, repeated applications, especially on extensive skin surfaces, under occlusive dressings, in areas with impaired skin integrity (including burns), mucous membranes.

For antiseptic treatment of the skin before blood sampling or puncture, the drug is not used.

The solution is not intended to disinfect surgical material.

Cannot be used with soap.

After opening the contents of the vial are at risk of microbial contamination.

Due to the ability of the solution to foaming in case of accidental ingestion into the gastrointestinal tract, it is strictly forbidden to wash the stomach.

Drug interactions

Simultaneous use with other antiseptics causes drug inactivation.
