Gel for external use Klindovit

Clindovit is an antibacterial drug used to treat acne.

Release form and composition

The drug is produced in the form of a gel for external use: almost transparent, colorless, with a specific odor, with the possible presence of opalescence (30 g in an aluminum tube, 1 tube in a cardboard box).

100 g of gel contains:

  • active substance: clindamycin (in the form of phosphate) - 1 g;
  • additional components: allantoin, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (nipagin), tocopheryl phosphate lauriminodipropionate disodium, macrogol 400 (polyethylene oxide 400), carbomer interpolymer, propylene glycol, sodium hydroxide, purified water, carbomer copolymer.

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics

Clindamycin is an antibiotic belonging to the group of lincosamides, which is active against all strains of Propionibacterium acnes, the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the drug is 0.4 μg / ml. The active substance prevents the production of proteins in the microbial cell as a result of interaction with the 50S-subunits of ribosomes.

Clindamycin phosphate is not active in vitro, but when applied to the skin in the ducts of the sebaceous glands, it is rapidly hydrolyzed by phosphatases, which leads to the formation of clindamycin, which is characterized by antibacterial activity. After treatment of the skin with the preparation, the amount of free fatty acids on its surface is reduced from approximately 14 to 2%.

Pharmacokinetics

In comedones, the active substance accumulates rapidly, and its antibacterial activity is manifested. The average concentration of the antibiotic in comedones after application of the gel significantly exceeds the MIC for all strains of Propionibacterium acnes, which is the causative agent of acne. After treatment of the skin with the drug, very low concentrations of clindamycin are detected in blood serum and urine.

Indications for use

According to the instructions, Clindovit is recommended for the treatment of acne (acne vulgaris).

Contraindications

  • ulcerative / pseudomembranous colitis (including a history of indications);
  • Crohn's disease;
  • hypersensitivity to clindamycin / lincomycin or any other component of the drug.

Care must be taken to use Clindovit gel in the following diseases / conditions:

  • age up to 12 years;
  • the presence of allergies;
  • combined reception with muscle relaxants.

Instructions for the use of Klindovit: method and dosage

Side effects

Clindovitis, as a rule, does not lead to the development of pronounced adverse reactions. However, in some cases, irritation, itching, burning, dry skin, peeling, increased sebum production, erythema, contact dermatitis may occur in the area of application of the gel. Against the background of systemic resorption of clindamycin, there is a likelihood of pseudomembranous enterocolitis.

Overdose

No data available.

special instructions

During application of the drug, it is required to avoid contact with the eyes and the oral mucosa. After the procedure, you should wash your hands thoroughly.

Pediatric use

Due to the lack of data indicating the safety and efficacy of using the gel in children under 12 years of age, patients of this age group should use it with caution.

  • lincomycin - there is cross-resistance between this substance and clindamycin;

According to most reviews, Clindovit is an effective treatment for acne. The gel is especially useful for small rashes and moderate acne. Patients note that the drug relieves skin inflammation, eliminates acne, cleanses the face from acne. At the same time, many indicate that the skin treated with the gel does not dry out, does not flake off and becomes dull. The drug is well absorbed, leaves no greasy residue, and is odorless. The advantages of the tool also include its economical consumption and relatively low cost.

At the same time, some patients note a very good and quick, but short-term result of treatment with Clindovitis. There are individual reviews with complaints about the complete absence of a positive effect after the course, but it should be borne in mind that this can also be caused by hormonal imbalances. The disadvantages of the drug in some cases include the need for its long-term use, the appearance after application of the gel of temporary burning and itching of the skin or allergic reactions caused by intolerance to the antibiotic.
