Candide is a synthetic broad-spectrum antifungal drug used to treat fungal infections of the skin and mucous membranes.

Candide, as an antifungal drug, is widely used to treat various candidal diseases, penetrating well into various skin layers and destroying bacterial cells.
The active ingredient is active against many yeast-like, mold and yeast fungi (Torulopsis, Candida, Rhodoturola), dermatophytes (Trichophyton, Epidermophyton, Microsporum), and some strains of gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria (Streptococcus spp., Stbacim.., Gardnerella vaginalis).
Release form
The drug is released in the form of a solution and cream for external use:
- 1% Candida solution - in the form of a viscous colorless transparent liquid. 1 ml contains 10 mg of active ingredient clotrimazole. The auxiliary substance is propylene glycol. In polyethylene bottles of 20 ml;
- 1% homogeneous white cream Candide. 1 g of cream contains 10 mg of active ingredient clotrimazole. Excipients - liquid paraffin, propylene glycol, emulsion wax, white petrolatum, methylparaben, alcohol, sodium phosphate anhydrous, propylparaben, sodium dihydrogen phosphate, butylhydroxytoluene and purified water. In aluminum tubes of 20 g.

Contraindications
The drug is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to the active ingredient - clotrimazole. It is also contraindicated to use Candide ointment during menstruation and in the first trimester of pregnancy.
When prescribing the drug during breastfeeding, care must be taken.
Ointment and solution Candide should not be used on skin areas with violations of the integrity of the skin.
Instructions for the use of Candida
Ointment Candide, as well as Candide solution, is applied in a small amount to the affected skin areas, previously washed and dried, and rubbed.
The treatment is quite long and should be continued for 2 to 4 weeks after the symptoms disappear to prevent relapse.
Solution Candide is used on hairy skin areas and with a large lesion area.
Candide in the form of vaginal tablets is prescribed at bedtime, 500 mg once. Also, one 500 mg tablet is enough to sanitize the birth canal. The drug is injected intravaginally, deeply.
Side effects
Solution and cream Candide rarely causes side effects in the form of local irritation, which usually goes away on its own.
When using Candida in the form of vaginal tablets, itching, burning, swelling of the vaginal mucosa, vaginal discharge, frequent urination or headache may occur.
According to the instructions, Candide, when used simultaneously with nystatin, amphotericin B and natamycin, reduces its activity.
The safety of using Candida during pregnancy and lactation has not been studied. Therefore, it is not recommended to prescribe the drug in the first trimester of pregnancy, as well as in high doses, on large areas of the skin and to carry out treatment for a long time.
