Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Bioprost is one of the combined drugs that have a positive effect on the course of the pathological process in benign prostatic hyperplasia. It has anti-inflammatory, bacteriostatic and analgesic effects, helps to reduce pain in the prostate and improve urination.
The action of Bioprost is determined by the properties of the active ingredients:
- pumpkin seed oil: has a therapeutic effect due to the large amount of unsaturated fatty acids, trace elements and antioxidants;
- thymol: highly active against coccal flora, has pronounced antibacterial properties against microorganisms.
In chronic prostatitis, the rectal route of administration of Bioprost is the most preferable, since the active components enter the bloodstream, bypassing the liver. This method of application provides a rapid onset of the therapeutic effect and excludes the possibility of inactivation of active components in the digestive tract and liver. This leads to the creation of their therapeutic concentration in the tissue and secretions of the prostate.
As a result of therapy, there is a decrease in the inflammatory response from the prostate tissue.
Indications for use
- chronic prostatitis of bacterial and abacterial etiology;
- benign prostatic hyperplasia (for symptomatic therapy).
