Autointoxication
Autointoxication (autointoxicatio; Greek autos - itself, own, the same + Lat. In- - location inside something + Greek toxikon - poison; synonym: endogenous intoxication) - poisoning of the body with poisonous substances formed in it.
Allocate:
- Infectious autointoxication (autointoxicatio infectiosa) - poisoning with tissue decay products in infectious diseases or bacterial toxins in autoinfection;
- Intestinal autointoxication (autointoxicatio intestinalis) - resorption autointoxication with products of putrefaction and fermentation in the intestine (skatole, phenol, indole, etc.);
- Metabolic autointoxication (autointoxicatio metabolica) - poisoning with products of impaired metabolism (nitrogenous bases, phenols, acidic products of carbohydrate metabolism, etc.);
- Resorption autointoxication (autointoxicatio resorptionalis) - poisoning by toxic products from the body cavities absorbed into the blood (for example, against the background of suppuration);
- Retention autointoxication (autointoxicatio retentionalis; lat.retentio - preservation, retention) - poisoning caused by a violation of the excretion of toxic metabolic products that were formed in the body during normal life.
