Kapsiol is a preparation for external use with keratolytic, softening and irritating effects.
Release form and composition
Dosage form - alcohol solution for external use: red-yellow or light yellow transparent liquid with a specific odor (100 ml in vials, 1 vial in a box).
Content of active substances in 100 g of solution:
- Salicylic acid - 1 g;
- Ricin oil - 10 g;
- Capsicum tincture - 10 g.
Auxiliary components: ethyl alcohol 96%.
Indications for use
The use of Kapsiol is indicated for the prevention and treatment of seborrhea and increased hair loss.
Contraindications
- The period of pregnancy and breastfeeding;
- Diseases of the scalp;
- Age under 12;
- Idiosyncrasy to the components of the drug.
Method of administration and dosage
The solution is applied externally, rubbed into the hair roots for 1 hour, then thoroughly washed the hair. The procedure should be carried out no more than 1 time in 7 days for 1-1.5 months. If it is necessary to repeat the course, it is recommended to start it after a break of 3-4 weeks.
Side effects
The use of Kapsiol can cause side effects in the form of local irritation, itching, dryness and exfoliation of the skin, urticaria, contact dermatitis.
Long-term use of the drug leads to systemic disorders, the characteristic signs of which are dizziness, nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, tinnitus, and rapid shallow breathing.

Drug interactions
The simultaneous intake of salicylic acid preparations, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic agents and sulfonylurea derivatives is not recommended.
The drug increases the permeability of the scalp; therefore, its combination with topical retinoids, benzoyl peroxide should be avoided.
Capsiol enhances the side effects of methotrexate.
