Anastomosis II

Anastomosis II (anastomosis; synonym: anastomosis) in surgery is a communication between hollow organs, body cavities or blood vessels, created by surgery:

The following types of anastomosis are distinguished:

  • Aortocoronary (aortocoronaria) - vascular, between the coronary artery of the heart and the thoracic aorta;
  • Biliodigestive (biliodigestiva) - between any part of the gastrointestinal tract and bile ducts;
  • Side-to-side - stitching the edges of the holes formed on the lateral surfaces of the connected organs;
  • "Side-to-end" - stitching the abducting end of a resected or crossed organ into a hole on the lateral surface of the adductor organ;
  • Ventriculosubdural (ventriculosubduralis; synonyms: ventriculo-subdural drainage, lateral ventricular drainage internal) - between the anterior horn of the lateral ventricle and the anterior subdural space of the brain;
  • Intrapericardial right-sided (synonym: Cooley-Waterston anastomosis) - vascular, "side to side" between the right pulmonary artery and the ascending aorta;
  • Gastrointestinal (gastrointestinalis) - between the small intestine and the stomach;
  • Cavopulmonal (cavopulmonalis) - vascular, "end to end" between the superior vena cava and the right pulmonary artery;
  • Intestinal (intestinalis) - between the loops of the intestine;
  • "End-to-side" - insertion of the leading end of a resected or crossed organ into a hole on the lateral surface of the abducting organ;
  • “End-to-end” - stitching of the ends of a resected or crossed hollow organ;
  • Lymphovenous (lymphovenosa) - "side to side" between the lymph node and the great saphenous vein in the groin;
  • Lumboperitoneal (lumboperitonealis) - between the peritoneal cavity and the subarachnoid space of the spinal cord;
  • Mammary-coronary (mammariocoronaria) - vascular, between the coronary and internal thoracic arteries;
  • Mesentericocaval (mesentericocavalis) - between the vessels of the mesentery and the inferior vena cava;
  • Nerves (nervorum) - between the peripheral end of the damaged nerve and its central end or an intact nerve located nearby;
  • Omentodural (omentoduralis; synonyms: Burdenko-Bakuleva omentoduroanastomosis, omentum-dural anastomosis) - between the peritoneal cavity and the subarachnoid space of the spinal cord;
  • Pancreatoduodenalis (pancreatoduodenalis) - between the duodenum and the stump of the pancreas after its removal;
  • Pancreatojejunalis - between the jejunum and the stump of the pancreas (after pancreatoduodenal resection);
  • Portocaval (portocavalis) - vascular, between the inferior and portal vena cava;
  • Vascular (synonym: vasoanastomosis) - between two blood vessels;
  • Splenorenalis - vascular, between the veins of the spleen and kidney.
