Angiosil retard is a drug of the group of antihypoxants that improves the utilization of oxygen circulating in the body and increases resistance to oxygen deficiency (hypoxia), directly affecting the neurons of the brain and cardiomyocytes, optimizing their metabolism and function.

Release form and composition

Dosage form Angosil retard - tablets of prolonged action, coated: biconvex, round, pink shell (10 or 14 pcs. In a blister strip, in a cardboard box 3 or 6 packages of 10 pcs. Or 2 or 4 packages of 14 pcs..).

1 sustained-release film-coated tablet contains:

  • active substance: trimetazidine dihydrochloride - 35 mg;
  • auxiliary components: hypromellose, magnesium stearate, colloidal silicon dioxide, microcrystalline cellulose, opadry II (lactose monohydrate, hypromellose, triacetin, titanium dioxide, macrogol, iron oxide yellow and red).

Indications for use

  • Ischemic heart disease (coronary artery disease) - as part of complex therapy for the prevention of angina attacks;
  • cochleovestibular disorders of an ischemic nature (tinnitus, dizziness, hearing impairment);
  • chorioretinal vascular pathologies.

Contraindications

  • lactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome;
  • renal dysfunction (creatinine clearance ≤15 ml / min);
  • severe liver failure;
  • the period of pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding);
  • children and adolescents up to 18 years (the efficacy and safety profile for this age group has not been studied);
  • hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Method of administration and dosage

Angiosil retard tablets are taken orally.

The recommended dosage regimen (if there are no other prescriptions): 1 pc. (35 mg) 2 times a day, morning and evening, during meals.

The duration of the course of treatment is set for each patient individually.

Side effects

The frequency of side effects observed when taking trimetazidine from organs and systems (according to the gradation: very often -> 1/10; often -> 1 / 100-1 / 1000-1 / 10,000- <1/1000); very rare - <1/10 000 (including individual messages)):

  • digestive system: often - diarrhea, dyspepsia, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting;
  • central nervous system: often - headache, dizziness, asthenia; very rarely - extrapyramidal disorders (rigidity, tremor, akinesia) (these reactions are reversible and disappear after drug withdrawal);
  • skin: often - urticaria, itching, skin rash;
  • cardiovascular system: rarely - orthostatic hypotension, flushing of the face.

Trimetazidine is not used to relieve angina attacks; with the development of a heart attack, therapy is recommended to be reviewed and adapted.

Do not use the drug in the initial course of treatment of myocardial infarction or unstable angina.

Due to the lack of data from clinical studies of the use of the drug in severely impaired liver function, it is not recommended to prescribe antihypoxants for this category of patients.

Angiosil retard has little effect on the ability to drive vehicles and perform work requiring increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.
