Hair
Hair (pili) - filamentous derivatives of the epidermis of the skin.
Allocate hair:
- Ingrown (incarnati) - in which the free ends grow into the skin; appear mainly on the chin of men due to regular injury during shaving;
- Long (longi) - pigmented hair of the mustache and beard, head, axillary fossa, external genital organs and pubis, having a thickness of 0.05-0.2 mm, and a length of more than 5 cm;
- Ringed (anulati; synonym: graying annular) - hereditary developmental anomaly: located among normally pigmented hairs of the head annular graying zones;
- Moniliform (moniliformes; synonyms: moniletrix, fusiform hair) - hereditary hair dystrophy, which is detected in early childhood, in which there is an alternation of fusiform thickenings of the hair shaft with fragility, dryness, loss and areas of thinning hair;
- Twisted (torti; synonyms: trichotortosis, trichokinesis) - developmental anomaly: brittle, dry hair, in which the rods are twisted around the longitudinal axis;
- Flat (plani) - an anomaly in the development of scalp hair: alternation of flattened light and dark areas along the length of the hair;
- Tufted (synonyms: thysanothrix, spinulosa, trichostasis) - congenital anomaly of hair growth on the abdomen and back, characterized by the presence in one hair follicle of 20-40 hairs arranged in the form of a brush (including dead hair);
- Fluffy (lanugo) - slightly pigmented, thin, short hair that covers almost the entire human body;
- Bristly - pigmented, thick, short hair that forms eyelashes and eyebrows, and also grows in the external auditory canal and in the nasal passages.
