Juvederm
Juvederm is a group of monophasic (not containing additional inclusions) fillers containing natural reticular hyaluronic acid produced by biosynthesis.
A filler is understood as a specialized (natural or synthetic) gel, an injection material used to eliminate wrinkles, body contouring, correction of nasolabial folds and other cosmetic procedures.
Juvederm is a popular dermal filler containing hyaluronic acid, a natural polysaccharide found in human tissue. The skin contains a supply of hyaluronic acid, which is the main component of the skin's cellular matrix. Like cement, it binds collagen fibers together, and high hygroscopic properties allow hyaluronic acid to retain water, thereby ensuring an optimal level of skin hydration. In addition, hyaluronic acid has viscoelastic properties, increasing the concentration of natural lubricant on the skin and improving its absorption properties.
Due to the inevitable aging of the body, the impact on the skin of negative external (temperature, sun, cold, medications) and internal factors, the skin loses its own hyaluronic acid, as a result of which the connection between the dermis and the epidermis weakens, which leads to a decrease in skin tone and the formation of wrinkles. Therefore, starting from the age of 30, the body needs additional supplies of hyaluronic acid, which is part of the fillers.
Hyaluronic acid, which is part of the Juvederm injections, is produced as a result of bacterial fermentation of a natural strain of Streptococcus equi, which is non-pathogenic to the human body.
Characteristics of the drug Juvederm
The history of the Juvederm dermal filler dates back to 2000, when the French company Corneal France introduced a new, improved filler to the cosmetic market. The implant series meets high safety requirements - biocompatibility with human tissues, sterility, high content of proteins, pyrogens, endotoxins and other biologically active substances. According to reviews of Yuvederm, these properties of the drug allow the filler to be evenly distributed under the skin, eliminating non-uniform correction and effectively eliminating all existing skin imperfections.
There are several types of the series of the drug Juvederm:
- Juvederm. The preparation is a sterile, physiological, pyrogen-free gel containing intermolecularly bound hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin;
- Juvederm 2. The implant having the least concentrated composition of their entire range of fillers. Juvederma 2 injections are intended to be injected into the superficial layer of the dermis with the aim of correcting small wrinkles in the corners of the eyes (“crow's feet”), on the forehead, perioral and glabellar folds;
- Juvederm 3. The drug is injected into the superficial and middle layers of the dermis, used to eliminate fine wrinkles on the cheeks, in the corners of the mouth, on the forehead. The filler is also used for cosmetic correction of the lip contour;
- Juvederm 4. Juvederm dermal filler for lips, pronounced nasolabial wrinkles, deep folds on the forehead. It has a very dense concentration and is intended for introduction into the deep layers of the dermis in order to restore a clear contour of the face, lips, cheekbones, chin.
Juvederm injections is the only hyaluronic acid-based implant that contains a 0.3% lidocaine solution, which allows all cosmetic operations to be carried out absolutely painlessly.
Correction of appearance using Juvederm injections
The cosmetic procedure, during which the gel is injected into the dermal layer of the skin using a syringe with a fine needle or cannula, lasts no more than 30 minutes. For 2-3 days after the injection, slight redness, swelling and soreness of the skin may occur. Signs of injection intervention, according to reviews to Yuviderm, disappear after a few days without the use of special therapy.
In rare cases, nodules may occur at the injection site: this side effect of Juvederm must be notified to the doctor as soon as possible.
The duration of action of Juvederm for lips lasts 6 months - due to their high saturation with capillaries, for all other skin areas - about 9 months. On the earlobes, the results of the correction persist from 1.5-2 years. In general, the duration of the drug's effect depends on the skin type, the technique used and the individual characteristics of the patient's skin.
After the injections, the drug is not recommended:
- Be under the influence of direct sunlight, visit the solarium for 10 days after the procedure;
- Visit the bathhouse, sauna, pool throughout the week;
- Do a facial massage for 2-3 months;
- Excessively strain the facial muscles.
