Irikar is a dermatotropic homeopathic monocomponent drug with antipruritic and anti-inflammatory action.
Release form and composition
- Ointment for external use: a homogeneous substance, practically odorless, light yellow, insignificant oily discharge of light yellow color is acceptable in the opening of the tube, which is safe for use, since it is not an indicator of instability (50 g each in tubes, 1 tube in a cardboard pack);
- Cream for external use: yellowish, shiny, with a faint smell of benzaldehyde (similar to the smell of apple seeds or bitter almonds) (50 g in tubes, 1 tube in a cardboard box).
100 g of ointment for external use contains:
- Active ingredient: matrix tincture of Cardiospermum / Cardiospermum halicacabum - 10 g;
- Auxiliary components: lanolin, liquid paraffin, lanolin-alcohol ointment, purified water.
100 g of cream for external use contains:
- Active ingredient: matrix tincture of Cardiospermum halicacabum (kardiospermum halicacabum) - 10 g;
- Auxiliary components: dragil (self-emulsifying ethylene glycol mono- and distearate), PCL-solid (stearyl heptanoate), isopropyl myristate, liquid paraffin, glycerol (85% glycerol), benzyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, potassium hydroxide, purified water.
Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Irikar is one of the mono-component homeopathic medicines. Its effect is due to the properties of the active component - the tropical liana Cardiospermum halicacabum. The plant contains alkaloids, tannins, plant sterols, pentacyclic triterpenes and flavonoids.
Irikar has a pronounced antipruritic and anti-inflammatory effect. As a result of therapy, redness and swelling pass, the severity of itching and manifestations of the inflammatory process decrease. Also, the drug contributes to the disappearance of thickening and flaking of the skin caused by continuous scratching.
Indications for use
Irikar cream and ointment are indicated for use in dermatological practice as part of the complex therapy of the following skin inflammatory diseases, accompanied by itching:
- Neurodermatitis;
- Eczema;
- Atopic dermatitis.
The cream is additionally recommended for the treatment of dermatitis and the effects of insect bites.
Contraindications
- Age up to 1 year;
- Hypersensitivity to drug components.
During pregnancy and lactation, it is possible to use Irikar in cases where the predicted effect of therapy is significantly higher than the potential risk to the fetus (child).
Instructions for the use of Irikar: method and dosage
Irikar cream and ointment are intended for external use.
For children from 1 year of age and older, as well as for adults, the drug is applied in a thin layer on the affected skin (lightly rubbing) 3 times a day.
The cream is recommended to be used in the acute stage of the process or in the presence of contraindications to the use of products with a high fat content. The ointment is used in the case of a subacute and chronic course of diseases with the presence of morphological elements of a rash without wetting of the affected areas, as well as with severe dryness of the skin.
Due to its good tolerance, Irikar can be applied over a long period.
If there is no effect from the use of the drug for 2 weeks, you should consult a doctor.
Side effects
Skin allergic responses to the components of the ointment / cream base are sometimes possible.
Overdose
There is no information about cases of overdose.
