Release form and composition
The product is produced in the form of a balm: an oily transparent liquid of yellow or yellow color with a green tinge, with a mint smell (100, 50, 30 or 25 ml in a dark glass bottle, 1 bottle in a cardboard box).
Balsam Karavaeva Vitaon contains the following ingredients: oil extract of medicinal plants (rose hips, St. John's wort, chamomile, mint, wormwood, yarrow, celandine, thyme, caraway seeds, fennel, calendula, pine buds); an essential composition comprising orange, mint and fennel oils; perfume; camphor.
The base of the balm is soybean oil.

Due to the rich composition of biologically active components, Vitaon Karavaeva Balm has antimicrobial, analgesic, antipruritic, anti-inflammatory, regenerating, soothing and softening effect. These effects of the drug are due to the beneficial properties of its plant components:
- rose hips, calendula, fennel, cumin, essential oils: enhance bactericidal activity, positively affect the body's immune system;
- thyme, pine buds, calendula, yarrow, chamomile, St. John's wort, celandine, mint, rose hips, essential oils: exhibit anti-inflammatory effect; promote the fastest healing of burns, wounds, ulcers and cracks;
- mint, fennel, essential oils: help to restore water-fat metabolism of skin cells;
- St. John's wort, chamomile, yarrow, mint: soothing, softening and antipruritic.
Balsam Karavaeva Vitaon is successfully used to relieve inflammation and swelling of the skin, reduce painful sensations against the background of burns and cuts. Oil extracts of medicinal herbs prevent excessive dryness of the skin, eliminate flaking and itching. When the balm is applied to the skin, its active ingredients irritate the receptors, resulting in increased blood flow to the treated area. These properties of the drug allow it to be widely used in dermatology in the complex treatment of many skin lesions.
Indications for use
According to the instructions, Vitaon Karavaeva Balsam is recommended for use as an adjuvant in combination with traditional methods of therapy for the following diseases / conditions:
- otolaryngology: sinusitis, sinusitis, rhinitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, otitis media, laryngitis;
- dermatology: neurodermatitis, dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema;
- dentistry: gingivitis, stomatitis, periodontitis, prevention of inflammation during the period of prosthetics;
- surgery: ulcers, cracks, wounds, burns;
- mammology: mastitis, cracked nipples, lactostasis;
- gynecology: colpitis (vaginitis), cervical erosion, bacterial vaginosis, thrush, bartholinitis; prevention of inflammation after gynecological manipulations (hysteroscopy, removal / installation of an intrauterine device, uterine intubation);

Instructions for use of Balsam Karavaev Vitaon: method and dosage
Balsam Karavaeva Vitaon should be used only after consulting a specialist.
Recommended dosage regimen depending on indications:
- wounds, ulcers, burns, cracks: the affected area is lubricated with a product, if necessary, a tampon soaked in balsam is applied; the procedure can be repeated in 1–2 hours;
- dermatitis (including itchy ones), eczema, neurodermatitis, psoriasis: apply the drug to the affected area 2-3 times a day;
- rhinitis: 3-4 times a day instillation with balm in the nasal passages is carried out; in order to prevent rhinitis, acute respiratory diseases (ARI) and influenza during the epidemic period, the product is injected into the nasal passages once a day, and also lubricate the nasal cavity with it before each going outside or in contact with a patient;
- sinusitis, sinusitis: 2-3 times a day instill 2-3 drops of balm, the course is 30-35 days;
- pharyngitis, tonsillitis, laryngitis: 2–3 times a day, apply ½ teaspoon of the drug on the tongue and spread over the entire mucous membrane of the oropharynx; in case of a tendency to inflammation of the oropharynx and tonsils, 1–2 times a day rinse the throat and mouth with a solution obtained by diluting 10–15 drops of balm in ⅓ glass of warm water;
- otitis media: 2-3 drops are instilled into the ear 2-3 times a day;
- gingivitis, periodontitis, stomatitis, prosthetics: to relieve pain, reduce inflammation and bleeding 3-4 times a day on the mucous membrane of the mouth and sore gums for 15-20 minutes, apply a cotton swab soaked in the drug; in order to prevent the appearance of complications, Vitaon is applied to the gums by massaging finger movements 2-3 times a day;
- hemorrhoids, proctitis, prevention / healing of anal fissures: 2 times a day and after each bowel movement, lubricate the anus with the drug; at night, a cotton swab abundantly moistened with balm is inserted into the anus;
- erosion of the cervix, colpitis (vaginitis): use tampons soaked in the product;
- prevention / treatment of nipple cracks: the drug is applied to clean, dry skin of the nipples and left until completely absorbed (it is advisable to do this after feeding, because due to the smell of the oils included in the product, the child may refuse to breast); for the speedy healing of cracks in the nipple area, applications with balm are made, the procedure lasts 60 minutes, the breast should be washed before feeding;
- lactostasis: the agent is applied to the area of compaction 3-4 times a day with gentle massaging movements with further expression of milk.
The patient should strictly follow the recommendations of the attending physician.
Side effects
Balsam Karavaeva Vitaon, as a rule, is well tolerated, but with the existing individual hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients, the manifestation of allergic reactions in the form of rashes, itching, burning or peeling may be observed on the treated skin area. These effects are not pronounced and go away on their own after the drug is canceled.
Overdose
Until now, cases of overdose with balm have not been recorded, however, in order to prevent the development of hypersensitivity or other undesirable effects, the recommended dose should not be exceeded.
