Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics

Tizin Allergy is one of the anti-allergic drugs, long-acting selective histamine H 1 receptor blockers. Helps to eliminate the symptoms of allergic rhinitis - nasal discharge, sneezing, itching in the nasal cavity.

The local effect develops within 5 minutes after the administration of the drug, its duration is 12 hours.

Pharmacokinetics

After each intranasal administration of one dose (0.05 mg), from 0.03 to 0.04 mg of levocabastine is absorbed. The time to reach C max (maximum concentration of the substance) in blood plasma is approximately 3 hours.

The binding of levocabastine to blood plasma proteins is about 55%.

The main metabolite of levocabastine is acylglucuronide. It is formed in the liver by glucuronidation (the main pathway for the formation of metabolites).

T 1/2 (half-life) of levocabastine is from 35 to 40 hours. It is excreted mainly unchanged by the kidneys.
