Treatment of thrush - folk remedies
Thrush is a disease caused by yeast-like fungi, which in small quantities are part of the normal microflora of the vagina, oral cavity and rectum. Sometimes a change in the chemical composition of the habitat leads to the fact that fungi of the genus Candida get the opportunity to reproduce unhindered. In this case, mucous membranes are affected by them, and a disease occurs - candidiasis, popularly known as thrush because the plaque formed in this case looks like flakes of curdled milk. In this article, we will talk about fungal infections of the vaginal mucosa, and whether it is worth treating thrush with folk remedies.
As it becomes clear from the description, the leading link in the onset of the disease is a violation of the pH of the vagina, namely, increased acidity - it is these conditions that promote the growth of the fungus. Therefore, measures for the treatment of thrush with folk remedies are mainly aimed at changing the acidic environment to an alkaline one. That is why one of the folk remedies recommended in this case is douching with a solution of baking soda, for which one teaspoon of soda is dissolved in a glass of warm water.
One of the most effective folk recipes for vaginal candidiasis: grate carrots on a fine grater, about 2 teaspoons. Wrap the resulting gruel in gauze, thus making a tampon, tie it with a thread, leaving one end of the thread long. A carrot swab is placed in the vagina overnight, positioned as deep as possible. Remove in the morning by gently pulling on a long thread. Carrot juice creates an alkaline environment, and in addition, it has wound healing properties, due to which it helps to restore the mucous membrane.
Treatment of thrush with folk remedies with the help of decoctions and infusions of medicinal plants is popular. Use chamomile, calendula, oak bark, sage, marshmallow, arnica, St. John's wort, yarrow - separately or in the form of a mixture, which is brewed at the rate of 1 tablespoon of dry grass per 250 ml of water. After the herb is brewed, it is allowed to brew for 1-2 hours and is used for douching 2-3 times a day.
Treatment of thrush with folk remedies can be quite effective, especially if it is combined with what the doctor prescribed, supplementing it. Such measures allow reducing the drug load on the body without losing the effectiveness of therapy. It should be borne in mind that candidiasis refers to diseases that require long and persistent treatment, and therefore it is not necessary to rely on only one treatment of thrush with folk remedies, especially since it is not able to eliminate the root of evil - the reason that led to the appearance dysbiosis.
